UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA OFFSHORE OFFICE

All online applications sent to UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA (UM) will be automatically redirected to our Offshore Offices in
the respective countries where applicants are from. The function of the Offshore Office is to verify applicants’ academic
qualification documents, accuracy of certificates submitted, and completeness of application documents.

UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA OFFSHORE OFFICE

An Offshore Office is an agency located in a foreign country officially appointed by the University of Malaya (UM).

THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY UM OFFSHORE OFFICES INCLUDE:

• Updating all information on documents required to apply
• Updating on the progress of application status
• Furnishing all relevant information on studying in UM
• Introducing the culture, education system, and other relevant information about Malaysia
• Advising new students on registration matters
• Guiding new students on the necessary permit/visa application process
• Advising UM on the qualifications and education systems of applicants from the respective countries
• Checking with the school/colleges/universities on the applicants’ status and education background
• Verifying original certificates with authorities in the respective countries and detecting fraudulent certificates
• Forwarding the offer letters and VWR (Visa with Reference) to the students upon receipt from UM
• Assisting students in the procedures of applying single-entry visa from the home country after approval of
student visa

THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY UM OFFSHORE OFFICES INCLUDE:

UM will only charge a processing fee of USD60.00 for Undergraduate/Postgraduate application. The payment details
are as follows:

OTHER FEES WHICH MAY OCCUR AT THE OFFSHORE OFFICES:

Any fee charged by the Offshore Office for providing such services or any other services shall be borne by the
applicant. The University of Malaya will not be obliged to settle the fees charged and shall not be held liable.
