Chapter 3

Research Methodology

In this chapter the research methodology used in this study is described. The

area where are study is conducted, the study design and the population and sample are

described. The instruments used to collect the data, including methods implemented to

maintain validity and reliability of the instrument are described.

Research Design

This study was conducted in order to assess the business practices of school

canteen in LSHS. In order to gather necessary data, the researcher utilized the

descriptive method using only quantitative approaches. A total of 5 respondents were

randomly selected as participants. The survey-questionnaire method was the research

used for data gathering.

The Sampling

The canteen staff who have been chosen in this study accomplished a survey

questionnaire to evaluate the strategy in the school canteen. The results of the survey

were then proceed by computing the weighted mean of each survey item.
 In solving formula, will become the sample from Laguna Senior High School

canteen staff with the total of 5, the researcher computed this figure with a margin of

error 10%

Instruments

The researcher check list questionnaire in order to determine the business

practices of the school canteen in Laguna Senior High School .

 Table 1 shows the table for verbal interpretation, shows the rating scale and

verbal interpretation that we’re used in the check list questionnaire.

Data Collection Procedure

After the research title has been approved, the researcher made the first

three chapters of the research study. The researcher went to the principal or other

faculty teachers of Laguna Senior High School to ask permission in conducting a

survey. In collecting the data, the researchers ask permission to the selected

respondents if they can used as respondents in the research when the respondents

approved to be the one of the sample to be used in this research the researchers will

give the checklist type of questioners and the researcher will explain to the respondents

what this research all about for them to understand the questioners they will answers.

After the data are already gathered the researchers will analyzed, presented and

interpreted them.

Data Analysis

The check list questionnaire we’re distributed to the respondent’s and all the data

collected will be one to gather, analyze, and interpret to determine the business

practices of school canteen in Laguna Senior High School. To get the general average,

add up the total score of the respondents, divide by the total respondents multiply by

one hundred percent to get the total percentage.
