Direction: Answer or explain the following:
1. Make a composition: How to become Great Son or Daughter
How to become Great Son or Daughter
Great is a big word. It makes a whole lot of change to a person’s name or character when called by it
because great means that you are an admirable person and a very successful one. But will the meaning of great
change when it will be viewed by a parent’s eye?
From the moment that our parents knew that they are having a child they already poured their love for
us. They have decided to love us no matter what we do and no matter what situation we put our self into. For them
even if we are not yet born, we are already great. Even sometimes we pick the wrong choices that makes them
upset, they still love us. Even when we are very hard- headed, they still love us. Sometimes it seems that it really
doesn’t matter if we commit a lot of mistakes because at the end of the day we are still the child of our parents. Our
parents still love us.
Our parents are always there to support us in all that we do. But this does not mean that we don’t have
to be obedient, respectful, loving and caring to them. As their child we have to at least prove to them that we are
worthy of being called a great son or daughter.

2. Compare the spiritual training of the youth before and at present.

Spiritual training of the youth before is a bit different than that of today because of some changes that
happened over the years. They are both effective for the spiritual nourishment of the youth but for some reason
spiritual training of the youth before is somewhat more effective because back then, like for example the Rizals, they
prayed together daily at home – the Angelus at sunset and the Rosary before retiring to bed at night., after the family
prayers, all the children kissed the hands of their parents. At present gone are the things that the youth from the past
use to do. Seldom are those who know how to use the Rosary, pray before going to bed and many more. Because
we are now in the modern era, the attention of the youth in terms of spiritual training is sometimes being diverted into
gadgets. In church for example, the youths bring their phones and text their friends instead of listening to the priest.
Some conduct seminars and trainings about spiritual nourishment. It is quite effective but some youths nowadays are
just so stubborn that all the lessons they have learned are just put into trash.

3. Relate your unforgettable experience during your childhood.

During my childhood days I was such a very adventurous young lady. Even when my mother always tell me
not to go out because I might get hurt, I always nag at her saying that I won’t be going too far at home. One day, I
told my mother that I’ll just play with my cousins in the basketball court near our house and she allowed me. I did go
to the court but when I saw my sister’s husband riding a “kolong-kolong” going to our municipal hall which is quite far
from our place, I asked him if I could come too but he said no. But because I am such a hard-headed girl, the next
thing I knew is I was walking with my friends following my sister’s husband thinking that we could ride in his
“kolongkolong”.
We are halfway to the municipal hall when we met him along the way going home already. We are happy
because we did get a chance to ride in his “kolong-kolong” but when we arrived home, he told my mother that we
followed him in the municipal hall and we just walked. My mother was very furious that I had to run and hide from her
because she’s going to put me in a sack. As a child I thought that if I will hide at the back of the door I will be safe. My
Nanay saw me so I told her to be quiet but she told my mother where I was hiding. Mother told my Nanay what
happened so they both put me in the sack. I moved frantically so they cannot put me in the sack fully. Eventually,
they got tired and just lectured me about my wrongdoing.

4. As a student, what are your religious activities that can provide your spiritual nourishment?
There are a lot of religious activities that could provide me spiritual nourishment. In our school, we conduct
religious emphasis that happens every year and convocation. Outside, I go to church with my family and I also attend
to some church activities.
