Announcing Product Link™ Elite (PLE) for Cat® Large Mining Trucks from Factory

Caterpillar is pleased to announce the availability of factory installed Product Link™ Elite (PLE) hardware for Large Mining Trucks.
The following table provides a summary of PLE availability for current production mining trucks. All future mining trucks will be
equipped with PLE hardware from the factory.

PLE is Caterpillar’s next generation on-board hardware that enables connectivity. The hardware interfaces with on-board machine
controllers and software and allows your assets to collect and transmit machine electronic data into locally-hosted or cloud-hosted
applications. These applications include MineStar Health applications such as Health Office, Health Equipment Insights, and
Equipment Care Advisor (ECA) that can assist with improving the reliability of your assets, reducing unplanned downtime, and
preventing failures that can lead to lost productivity and costly machine repairs. PLE also powers MineStar Fleet and the Driver
Safety System.

Key Features:

• Dual data path, which allows data transfer to both the local server and cloud simultaneously
• Cat radio or third-party radio compatibility to suit site preferences
• Remote flash capability for easy updating of firmware
• High-capacity memory storage, which allows for store-and-forward of data in the event of poor connectivity
• Ability to leverage PL641 radio for low precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) needs

Furthermore, PLE supports Vital Information Management System (VIMS) and Truck Payload Measuring System (TPMS) functionality.
The PLE factory offering includes Low Precision GPS along with an option to select Cellular or Satellite Cat radio for non-Command
machines. Command* machines require customer installed Wi-Fi radio for connectivity.

Note the data set via Satellite is limited, and the data transmission incurs a high cost. Mining assets create VIMS files that can only
be transmitted via Cellular or customer-installed Wi-Fi. These VIMS files are a richer set of data and can be used with the MineStar
Health applications mentioned above to help dealers and customers increase the availability of their assets.
