Category 2: Disadvantaged financial background

I have read, understood and accept the terms for lodging a SEAS application.

Nominee information is only available through your VTAC account and can be viewed/changed up until the
SEAS application closing date.

Category 2: Disadvantaged financial background

2.1 My education has been disadvantaged by financial circumstances that first presented in 2017 or earlier.

2.2 currently do not receive Centrelink benefit(s).

2.6 A brief description of why I am not in receipt of Centrelink benefits, income received from other sources,
number of dependants and financial hardships experienced are as follows:

My dad was the breadwinner of our family, unfortunately when I was 16 he died of cancer. My mom is a
housewife and doesn't earn anything so my brothers support her by providing her needs ones in a while for
they only have minimum wage. I was a scholar during my high school which explains why I was able to
graduate from secondary education. I was so driven to finish high school and get into a university to pursue
my dreams and help my family while serving my community. It makes me sad to know that my family are
unable to pay for my university tuition.
They are all living in the Philippines and on the other hand I am living on my own here in Australia. I moved
here in Melbourne last September for a hope to find better opportunities both in universities and workplaces.
My claim for a Centrelink benefit is in process and I am still looking for a job. It is a great blessing that my
aunt, who lives in a retirement village at Knox, helps me to be stable but that isn't enough. She has her own
needs and can't sustain her provision for me. Financial hardships occur and many times it's not a choice. I
humbly ask for your consideration and I deeply appreciate your help in this matter.

I understand I have to provide a statement of support for this category, Category 2 from a responsible
person who is not related to or living with me and can verify my financial circumstances.
