Christ Has No Body

Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

Teresa of Avila (1515–1582)

Babylon: 5Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat what they
produce. 6Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your
sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and
daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. 7But seek the welfare of the
city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf,
for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

The word of the Lord.

Thanks be to God.
