Is the Bill the Answer?

Free Time= Freedom.

Walking through the streets after spending the day in the school with a head tormented by the
overflowing information and trying to rejuvenate the mental pain that destroys the brain neurons, is a
typical description of a student from the mountain of school works during school days.

Students are usually carrying the burden of assignments as they go back home. Aside from the
mountain of school projects and performances, the after school programs or homeworks are infecting
the relaxing schedule of every student.

Instead of bonding with their family members and calming their minds from lots of books and
academic presentations that usually causing information overload, students resort their time in focusing
to academic concerns.

After an almost a day of spending time learning and absorbing every information in school, in their
homes they still need to review and study everything rigorously. This greatly affects the cognitive
performance of the students and their memory retention. Because their brains are too exhausted
especially when the number of assignments are too imaginative to accomplished in just a night.

"No home work Policy" or the Housebill No. 3611 filed by Home Deputy Evelina Escudero is the long
awaited answers of the students who are calling for a rest in their homes after schooldays. This
proposes the removal of the required homeworks from Kinder to Grade 12.

This Bill is probably the answer to the widespread rants of the students in the digital world and even
in the real one about the excruciating education system. As it hopes that students would use their time
in quality ways with their family and recover their brain from brain cracking activities given to them by
the educators. And this no-homework proposal promotes the holistic approach to the development of
the students encompassing their physical, moral, spiritual and specially their intellectual aspect.

But still, it is encaged in the arguments of a lot of sectors in the uncertainty of the effectiveness of
the bill to the students. Because this may overpowered them regarding their freedom and the purpose
of assignments are to enhance the ability and maintain the focus of the students in the importance of
education instead of paying attention to the activities that lessen their efficiency in time management.

Aside from the Knowledge Explosion we are facing, we are still in the Digital Era, so, Would this bill
serve as an answer for the burden of students ? Or they would use it to procrastination playing with
their gadgets and loss their productivity?

Or let's just say: is free time would result to abusive freedom?
