Lesson Plan in Technology Livelihood

Education (DRAFTING)
I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of one (1) hour lesson, 100% of the class are expected to have at least 80% level mastery in:

- Identify the basic materials used in drafting

- Differentiate the differences of use of materials in drafting

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Input/output
Basic Materials in Drafting

B. Reference
- TLE 1 book, Josephine C. Bernardino, Phoenix publishing house

III. MATERIALS
- Visual Aids
- Some examples of Tools

IV. TEACHING/LEARNING PROCEDURE

A. Routinary Matters
1. Prayer
2. Attendance

B. Motivation
The teacher will asked the students to imagine their selves 10 years from now. The teacher will then let the
students draw what they think they'll be doing 10 years from now.

C.Introduction
The teacher will asked the students what did they used in drawing.

D.Presentation
The teacher will show each basic materials in drafting. The teacher will then explain the use of each materials. the
teacher will also show them some materials.

Drawing Paper - a material used for drawing or this is were we can see the result of what
we draw or sketch.
Tracing Paper - this is a thin transparent paper on which inked or penciled drawing
is made for reproductions in blueprint or white print.

Drawing Pencil - this is manufactured in various grades ranging from SOFT (B) to HARD (H).

Mechanical Drawing Pencil - this is a type of drawing pencil that does not require sharpening. this comes in a case and
with replaceable lead

Technical Pen - Precision inking tools that come with points varying thickness from 0.10 to 2.0mm. it is used to have a
permanent drawing, lines or sketches.
Eraser - A HARD RUBBER ERASER is used to remove dark heavy lines. A SOFT RUBBER ERASER is used to erase light
lines and to clean smudges.

G. Application
The teacher will group the students. Each group they will identify and discuss In front the materials that assigned
to them.

V. Evaluation
1-4. give at least 4 materials in drafting
5. It is a thin transparent paper
6. Is used to remove dark heavy lines
7. What type of drawing pencil that does not require sharpening
8-10. Write at least 1 materials in drafting and discuss on how to used it.

VI. ASSIGNMENT
Draw a city and used at least 3 to 5 tools in drafting. Used Short bond paper.

The basic drafting procedure is to place a piece of paper (or other material) on a smooth surface with right-
angle corners and straight sides—typically a drawing board. ... In addition, the drafter uses several technical
drawing tools to draw curves and circles.
A Lesson Plan in TLE I (Drafting)

I. Objectives:
1. Identify the proper care of drafting tools.
2. Demonstrate the proper care of drafting tools.
3. Express the importance of the proper care of drafting tools.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: Proper care of drafting tools
Concept: The use of drafting tools
Skills to be developed: demonstration, creativity
Values to be developed: Maintaining the good condition of drafting tools.

III. Instructional Materials:

References: Cezar, Ma. Celina F., et al. Technology and Livelihood Education.
Proper Care of Drafting Tools. Manila: Innovative Educational
Materials, Inc., 2003, p. 151.

Scaffolds: Drafting tools, group illustrations

IV. Strategies:
A. Set Induction:
1. Who among you love to draw?
2. What tools do you usually use in drawing?
3. How are you going to take good care of your tools?
4. The class will be grouped into 4 to work on a specific task.
5. Each group will be provided with instruction of the task assigned.

B. Presentation:
1. Stand Setting
a. Work on these activities by group:
Group 1 – Illustrate or draw the proper care of drafting tools in an illustration
board.
Group 2 – Demonstrate in front of the class the proper care of drafting tools.
Group 3 – Write a group reflection on the importance of proper care of drafting tools.
Group 4 – Present a play or skit on the advantages of proper care of drafting tools and the
consequences of doing otherwise.

2. MI Production Proper

C. Processing:
1. How did you find the activity assigned to you?
2. Have you learned from and at the same time entertained by each group? Why?

D. Application:
(Short Essay)
1. How the proper care of drafting tools can affect your life as a student?

V. Evaluation:
1. What will happen when drafting tools are not properly taken cared of?
2. Why is it important to have a proper care of drafting tools?

VI. Assignment:
Read in the textbook page 151, and answer the ff:
1. Explain how to take care of speedball pens.

So that’s how you draw a parallel perspective of a
L-shaped block. Do you have any clarifications withregards to the steps?
: None, Ma’am.

Okay, so let’s see if you really understood the lesson.

D. Application
Re-Demonstration
(Group the class into two)The Group 1 will be the Team Umasa and Group 2 will bethe Team Paasa.
Now, each group will select their 11representatives to demonstrate each step on how to construct parallel
perspective drawing of L-shaped block on the board. Is it clear?
: Yes, Ma’am.
(Present Rubrics)

CRITERIA SCORES20 15 10 5AccuracyOrderlinessTeamworkTime Management

Okay, I will give you 3 minutes to select yourrepresentatives and familiarize the steps orderly.
: Okay, Ma’am.
Times up! You have 10 minutes to do your activity.(Distributing drawing instruments to each group)
You may now start…

(Activity Proper)
Well done class! You did a great job!
Let’s have Mommy Dionisia clap for everyone.
(Performs the Mommy Donisia clap)Okay class, why do we need to follow these
stepsin constructing parallel perspective drawing? : It is necessary to follow these steps with persevera
nce so that one may produce outputwith accuracy.Brilliant! T
hat’s true. Just like in our life
there are stepsto be followed and we need to be perseverant so that
we’ll
be successful in everything we do, right class?
: Yes, Ma’am!

E. Abstraction
What did we just discuss a while back? : We talked about parallel perspective or one point perspective
drawing.Very good! Again, what is parallel perspective? : Parallel perspective is a drawing where onesurface of
the object is drawn perpendicular or parallel to the picture plane and It has only one point which do
we call the vanishing point.Excellent! What about the steps in constructing parallel perspective? (Students
will enumerate the steps inconstructing parallel perspective)Magnificent class! Do you have any queries?
: None, Ma’am.
IV. EVALUATION
Laboratory Plate
Class bring out all your drawing materials and in the samemanner, draw parallel perspective of the same model.Your
drawing will be graded according to thefollowing criteria:(PLATE EXERCISE:Parallel Perspective of L-Shaped
Block)You will be given 15 minutes to do your plate. (Students are doing their laboratory plate)
V. ASSIGNMENT/AGREEMENT
A.

Follow up:

Draw the parallel perspective of U-shaped block.B.

Bring the following:

Perspective drawings or pictures having two vanishing point.

Drawing materials
That’s all for today. Goodbye class!

: Goodbye and thank you, Ma’am
