Monoacylglycerols, fatty acids, and cholesterol are absorbed passively (simple diffusion).
Inside the epithelial cells, triacylglycerols are resynthesized from monoacylglycerols and
long chain fatty acids.
These triacylglycerols, together with phospholipids, free cholesterol, cholesterol esters,
and apolipo proteins are become complex molecules called chylomicron
