Your partner will read out the statement in English and you will repeat the statement in

the target language.

Your partner marks any mistakes by circling omissions, underlining distortions and
indicating additions by writing the additional information next to the sentence

You will make note of the kinds of errors that you make. i.e. If you have difficulty with the
length of the statement, if you omit adverbs, or switch the order of the information.

Instructions for Care Following a Hysterectomy or Dilatation & Curettage

1. Do not operate a motor vehicle for 24 hours.


2. You may resume sexual activity in 4 weeks.
3. You may eat a regular diet, but start with clear fluids.
4. Add solid foods. When you feel able.
5. You can expect your menstrual period to occur at its usual time.
6. Rest today and resume normal activity tomorrow, if you feel able.
7. Use sanitary pads and NOT tampax for the time being.
8. Call your doctor tomorrow to make a follow-up appointment. v
9. If you routinely take aspirin, check with your doctor about restarting it.
10. Notify your doctor if the pain can’t be controlled by pain medication.
