The BDGPV Incorporated is located in a barangay Baesa, Quezon City. The company
is owned by Liezel Lyn Bondoc, Via Sacarine Daria, Johnberr Louis Garcia, Nathalie Valerie
Padilla and Ruel Vicente. The company employs 1,028 people.

Type of Business

Manufacturing is the type of business of BDGPV Incorporated because it converts


raw materials into finished goods that meet a customer’s expectations or specifications. It
involves a lower degree of customer contact. Its operations often have a greater ability to
control the variability of inputs, which leads to more-uniform job requirements.

We aim to be the leading and preferred provider of eco-friendly ceramic tiles in the
Philippines.

The HR department might be singularly responsible for certain objectives or it


might coordinate efforts with each of the departments responsible for contributing to the
organization's goals. The Human Resources Department recruits, develops and retains a
high performing and diverse workforce and fosters a healthy, safe, and productive work
environment for employees, their families, departments, and the public in order to
maximize individual and organizational potential and position BDGPV Incorporated as an
employer of choice.

OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

The operations department of BDGPV Incorporated is responsible for smooth and


profitable production. The objectives of an operations department revolve around high-
quality effective operations.

 Production of goods and services within the parameters of manufacturing cost


and minimum possible resource consumption: The first objective is to produce a
great product or service without costing more than is estimated allowed and
consuming resources the most efficiently.
 Ensuring the proper quality of goods and services per regulations: This is the
second objective, and while it’s similar to the first, it’s about quality assurance. Any
group working in customer service/support, as well as research and development,
customer experience or similar fields contributes to this. They do so by hearing
input from users who will be a window on how good a product or service actually is,
in the wild, as well as researching how to improve the product or service to meet
these standards if anything falls short.
 Production within timelines: Meeting schedules for production of goods and
services per the standards of quality, and at the budget allotted is the third
objective, and it’s one of the harder ones to manage. Anyone working within
management within the company pretty much dedicates themselves, through their
leadership within their department, to ensure that these goals are met.
 Ensuring minimal use of resources: This one sounds repetitive to me, considering
the first objective actually kind of states this, but we’re going by the clinical
definition which does indeed itemize this separately. That’s ok, because it gives me a
chance to point out that anyone who balances overhead, dedication of man power,
costs and resources contributes to this aspect of production management quite
heavily.
 Maximization of manpower utilization: This is another aspect where everyone in
management, team leadership or similar positions is integral components. This is
actually different from resources despite man power being a resource. This is all
about utilization of manpower to its fullest means ensuring that all skills available in
all people involved are tapped to their fullest potential.
 Ensuring efficiency by reducing redundancy of tasks: This basically means
eliminating unnecessary steps, or reworking any given process or procedure to
ensure that the minimal amount of work and time is being consumed. This must be
maintained while also ensuring that the above criteria of maximum utilization of
manpower, minimum resource consumption, proper standards of quality and
maximum expediency are met. Leadership, again, is directly involved in this, no
matter neither role nor department.

MARKETING DEPARTMENT

Marketing focus is on selling and/or promoting the goods or services of an


organization. It is also responsible for assessing customer wants and needs, and for
communicating those to operations people (short term) and to design people (long term).
It can provide valuable insight on what competitors are doing.

 Creation of Demand: The marketing management’s first objective is to create


demand through various means. A conscious attempt is made to find out the
preferences and tastes of the consumers. Goods and services are produced to satisfy
the needs of the customers. Demand is also created by informing the customers the
utility of various goods and services.

 Customer Satisfaction: The marketing manager must study the demands of


customers before offering them any goods or services. Selling the goods or services
is not that important as the satisfaction of the customers’ needs. Modern marketing
is customer- oriented. It begins and ends with the customer.
 Market Share: Every business aims at increasing its market share, i.e., the ratio of
its sales to the total sales in the economy. For instance, both Pepsi and Coke
compete with each other to increase their market share. For this, they have adopted
innovative advertising, innovative packaging, sales promotion activities, etc.
 Generation of Profits: The marketing department is the only department which
generates revenue for the business. Sufficient profits must be earned as a result of
sale of want-satisfying products. If the firm is not earning profits, it will not be able
to survive in the market. Moreover, profits are also needed for the growth and
diversification of the firm.
 Creation of Goodwill and Public Image: To build up the public image of a firm
over a period is another objective of marketing. The marketing department provides
quality products to customers at reasonable prices and thus creates its impact on
the customers.

The marketing manager attempts to raise the goodwill of the business by initiating
image- building activities such a sales promotion, publicity and advertisement, high quality,
reasonable price, convenient distribution outlets, etc..

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Accounting and Finance Department is responsible for accounting, auditing,


planning and organizing the company’s finances. They are also responsible in producing
the company’s financial statements. Cash flows is the lifeblood of any business. It is
important to manage the business’ cash outflows and inflows. The company can’t operate
without money.

The Accounting and Finance function is concerned with the following:

 Financial record keeping of transactions involving monetary inflows or outflows.


 Preparing financial statements (the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow
statement) for reporting to external parties such as shareholders. The financial
statements are also the starting point for calculating any tax due on business profits.
 Payroll administration Paying wages and salaries and maintaining appropriate
income tax and national insurance records.
 Preparing management accounting information and analysis to help managers to
plan, control and make decisions.

Accounting Department Goals & Objectives

An accounting department of any given company plays an important role in


managing money, gathering payments and collecting receivables, paying bills on time and
ensuring the company keeps a positive net worth value. Accountants often set goals and
objectives for the entire department to ensure the business performs the best possible
accounting practices at any given time. These objectives and goals may differ for each given
company.

 Manages Timely Payroll: The accounting department is responsible for managing


and updating all payroll information for existing employees in a given business. One
objective is to provide accurate payroll information and payments to employees.
Employee earnings must be tax-deducted before being issued to the workers in
question. In addition, the accounting department must have the goal of sending out
these payments in a timely manner despite other projects or deadlines at hand.
 Keeps Track of All Accounts Receivable: Accounts receivables describe the
accounts for customers who owe the company money. Customers buying products
and companies buying continuous services from the given business fall into this
category. One objective for all accountants working in the accounting department is
to follow up on all outstanding receivables, meaning contacting the buyers to see
when the payments will be made. At the time of sale, an invoice is issued with a
payment date, but busy companies or individuals may require an additional notice,
which is a common goal for an accounting department in keeping the company’s
finances balanced.
 Addresses Budget Changes: Board members and executives often have meetings
surrounding the issues of increasing profits without harming the quality of
production. If budgetary changes need to be made, the accounting manager often
offers his input on the changes, as he knows how the company stands financially.
One objective is to offer changes and solutions that keep the company’s net worth
balanced and ensures the budget has a positive profit figure each month despite the
changes made.
 Contributes to Financial Reporting: The accounting department keeps updated
entries of company income and outgo and provides that information as the basis of
preparing the company's quarterly and annual financial statements. The
department assures that financial reporting adheres to accounting standards.
 Provides Customer Service: Since accounting representatives often contact
accounts receivables to collect payments, a common goal is to provide customer
services and information whenever possible. Common department goals include
answering inquiries or emails within 24 hours, paying invoices to the company
within 10 business days of receipt, address any surcharges made to customers who
missed a payment deadline, and offer information regarding current invoices.

Finance Department Goals & Objectives

Small businesses might not have multi-employee finance departments, but the goals
and objectives for the accounting function of any entrepreneur should go beyond just
accurate record keeping. Even if you’re not a CPA, using a variety of basic finance
techniques can help you avoid money problems, spot opportunities and manage your cash
flow to maximize your productivity.

The goals for a finance department can include strategic budgeting, cost
containment, cash flow management, debt servicing, tax planning and accurate record
keeping.

 Strategic Budgeting and Projecting: One of the main goals for your finance
department should be to create and monitor not only your overall company budget,
but a variety of functional or departmental budgets, as well. Budgeting requires
research to estimate accurate revenue levels based on demand forecasting. Using
annual budget projections, your accounting staff can help you set targets for profit
goals and for overhead and production spending levels. Overhead includes costs
such as phones, rent and marketing, while production costs are those related to
making your product. Create monthly or quarterly budget variance analyses to see if
you’re on track with your revenues and spending or if you need to make changes
before expenses get out of hand.
 Cost Containment and Purchasing Management: To ensure you get the best
quality at the lowest price for materials, supplies and services, make purchasing
management one of the duties of your finance department. Require that employees
get multiple bids or present some justification for large purchases, and have your
vendors, suppliers and contractors rebid their contracts each year. Look for trends
in spending levels to determine where you can cut costs without sacrificing quality.
 Cash Flow Management: Knowing when your bills are due and when you can
expect payment from customers you’ve billed or other sales revenues is critical for
any small business. It’s not enough to show a profit on paper, and your finance
function should help you manage your working capital and credit to ensure you
have enough to pay your bills at all times. Make receivables management a key role
for your finance department.
 Debt Service and Credit Use: Letting your debt get out of control can have serious
long-term impacts on your business. Keep an eye on your credit use, including
interest amounts you’re generating, the scheduling of your payments and the status
of your credit report and scores.
 Proactive Tax Planning: Don’t wait until the end of the year to find out what your
income tax liability is. Use proactive strategies to lower your tax burden, such as
depreciating assets and offering voluntary benefits to employees that help you
lower payroll taxes.
 Accurate Record Keeping: The most important objective of any finance
department is to keep accurate financial records. This includes helping you meet
your legal requirements and ensuring you don’t spend more than you have by
accident. Consider external audits to prevent fraud, and institute policies and
procedures for controlling contracts and payments.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

Our plants are state-of-the-art. Our R&D facilities already have a foot firmly planted
in tomorrow and our people across the business ecology are electronically empowered.

Our Research & Development Department is future-ready. Our R&D Centre located at
Philippines is approved by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government
of Philippines. Our R&D Department keeps a strict eye on every aspect when it comes to
delivering quality. Our products undergo regular quality tests. Strict quality tests are also
carried out on raw materials like clays, minerals, chemicals and pigments we procure from
the large network of vendors and suppliers, both from India and across the globe.
Geologists regularly do on-site testing at the mines from where raw materials are procured.

Sustainability & Csr

 We have implemented a holistic CSR programme with the objective to promote


academics, healthcare as well as conservation of environment towards long-term
sustainable development .Our academic development objective is aimed at
promoting education as well as providing support to deserving members of the
community in which we operate. Promotion of education is undertaken through
financial & non-financial support provided to schools in and around the location of
our plants. Some of the activities undertaken in promotion of education & academics
included Free scholarships to deserving architect & interior design
 Over the years, we have made a sustained effort towards making a meaningful
contribution in promoting health of the communities around our manufacturing

these communities by providing access to basic health care through various camps
& awareness programmes organized within the communities.

in the manner in which we manage our operations. The manufacturing and
marketing operations are conducted to ensure sensitivity towards environment and
ensure waste reduction by encouraging 'Green' practices. We have undertaken tree
plantations to create green belts at all the plants of the Company across the country.
