1) What is The Definition of Descriptive Text?

Descriptive text is a text which say what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to
describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.

Descriptive text has structure as below:
a. Identification identifying the phenomenon to be described.
b. Description describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or and
characteristics.

MAKASSAR

Makassar is the provincial capital of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, and the largest city on
Sulawesi Island. From 1971 to 1999, the city was named Ujung Pandang, after a pre-
colonial fort in the city, and the two names are often used interchangeably. The port city
is located at 5°8′S 119°25′E, on the southwest coast of the island of Sulawesi, facing the
Makassar strait. Its area is 175.77 km2 and has population of around 1.4 million.

Makassar is home to several prominent landmarks including the 16th century Dutch fort
Fort Rotterdam, Trans Studio Makassar the third largest indoor theme park in the world
and the Karebosi Link the first underground shopping center in Indonesia.

Makassar has several famous traditional foods. The most famous is Coto Makassar. It is
a stew made from the mixture of nuts and spices with beef parts which include beef
brain, tongue and intestine. Konro rib dish is also popular traditional food in Makassar.
Both Coto Makassar and Konro are usually eaten with Burasa, glutinous rice with
coconut milk and sauted coconut granule.

In addition, Makassar is the home of pisang epe, or pressed bananas. These are bananas
which are pressed, grilled, and covered with palm sugar sauce and sometimes eaten
with Durian. Many street vendors sell pisang epe, especially around the area of Losari
beach.

Narrative text is a type of genre that sequences events or stories from time to time
and is described in the beginning, middle and end order.

2. What is Generic Structure of Narrative Text?

General Structure
1. Orientation: set the scene and introduce the participants.
2. Complications: crises, conflicts, or problems arise.
3. Resolution: the crisis or problem is resolved, for better or worse.
4. Reorientation / Coda: is a closing statement of the story and is optional. Can
contain about moral lessons, suggestions or teachings from the author.

The basic purpose of the narrative text is to entertain and appeal to the reader by
presenting a story or event that has a conflicting problem and at the end of the story
there is a happy or even miserable resolution or ending

Sura and Baya

A long time ago, there were two animals, Sura and Baya. Sura was the name of a shark
and Baya was a crocodile. They lived in a sea.

Once Sura and Baya were looking for some food. Suddenly, Baya saw a goat.
"Yummy, this is my lunch," said Baya.

"No way! This is my lunch. You are greedy" said Sura. Then they fought for the goat.
After several hours, they were very tired.
Feeling tired of fighting, they lived in the different places. Sura lived in the water and
Baya lived in the land. The border was the beach, so they would never fight again.

One day, Sura went to the land and looked for some food in the river. He was very
hungry and there was not much food in the sea. Baya was very angry when he knew
that Sura broke the promise.

They fought again. They both hit each other. Sura bit Baya’s tail. Baya did the same
thing to Sura. He bit very hard until Sura finally gave up and Awent back to the sea.
Baya was happy.

1. What is The Definition Recount Text?
The term recount comes from the French conter which has two meanings that
recalculate and tell a story: The word count comes from the French conter, which
means "add up" or "tell a story".

2. What is Generic Structure of Recount Text?

1. Orientation
In this section, the author begins the story by introducing background information
that answers, when, where events or events occurred in the past.
2. Events
After telling the background or identity of the perpetrator, setting the place and
time, in this section then the author begins to tell the story in sequence or
chronological order.
3. Reorientation
The generic structure of the last recount text is reorientation, many of which
describe this section with a summary that contains a repetition of the orientation
section. But for me, this part is actually a part of conclusion or a cover that
expresses the author's personal opinion of the events that have been told. For
example the story about the holidays, then the authors will conclude the impression
 about his vacation with "what an exciting holiday! I will go there again someday ".

The communicative purpose of the recount text is to tell the experiences or events
and events that occurred in the past chronologically or sequentially with the aim to
entertain or entertain the reader or listener.

Holiday to Indrayanti Beach

Orientation
Last weekend, after visiting my parents in Wonosari Gunungkidul, my family and I
went to Indrayanti Beach to spend our holidays in our own car.

Events
The way to get to Indrayanti Beach is very zigzag and very quiet at midnight. We
almost got lost because we had never been there before, but we finally got there safely.
We barely had a room to stay overnight because it was a long weekend so we could not
find a room easily.
We woke up early so we could enjoy the sunrise view of the beach. My son was playing
white sand with his brother when I took pictures.
Reorientation
One day at Indrayanti beach was very short, we were tired enough to play all day, but
we were very happy.
