CHAPTER TWO: LITERATURE REVIEW
Kim J Herrmann
First Published September 12, 2013 Research With an increasing awareness
that many undergraduates are passive during teaching sessions, calls for
instructional methods that allow students to become actively engaged have
increased. Cooperative learning has long been popular at the primary and
secondary level and, within recent years, higher education. However,
empirical evidence of the impact of cooperative learning at the university
level is still limited. This study reports the result of a quasi-experimental real-
life intervention with cooperative learning in an undergraduate course. In-
class participation and student approaches to learning were measured before
and after the intervention to assess the impact on 140 students’ engagement
levels. In addition, open-ended comments were analysed, revealing what
faculty adopting cooperative learning principles in higher education should be
especially aware of.

3
CHAPTER THIRD: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

3.1 Introduction
The chapter focuses on research methodology that was used in the study. It
provides a detailed description the research approach adopted in this study
.Research design, target population, data collection, analysis methods used
were presented in subsequent section.

3.2 Research Design

This study was descriptive research .Descriptive research involves gathering
data describes events and then organize, tabulates ,depicts and describes the
data collection.

3.3 Population of the Study

The population for our research is a people of Prithla and Faridabad area in
Haryana.

3.4 Sample Design

The sample design for this research is Area Sampling.

3.5 Data Collection

The research made use of primary data, which was collected using structured
questionnaire distributed to the 50 respondents sampled from the dist.
Faridabad. The questionnaires has both open ended questions to enable
guide the respondent through filling of the questionnaire as well as probe
them for more information.

3.6 Validity And Reliability

To achieve content validity, questionnaires include a variety of questions on
the knowledge of respondents on learning intervention practices.

Reliability can be ensured by minimizing sources of measurement error like

data collector bias.

4
3.7 Data Analysis
The study applied both nominal and ordinal scale to measure a range of
factors affecting the effectiveness of learning intervention practices on
employees performance.

5

4.9 Inferential Statistics

The study established the relation between learning intervention techniques
and skills and the study conducted an independent t-test between the
variables.

The value of t is more than .05 ,so we accept the null hypothesis. This
indicate that there is a relationship between learning intervention practices
and skills. These practices helps us in improving the skills of the employees
and have direct impact on maximum output.

4.7 Discussion on Finding
The study helps in finding answers of many question relating to learning
intervention practices. At higher percent ,the hands on training is the most
popular learning intervention practices.

Power point is the mostly used intervention tool. Small group discussion at
higher percent keeps the employee attentive and involved.

At higher percent limited budget and training resources were the main reason
of failing these practices because of non-availability of resources and
material.

At higher percent show them bigger picture is the most effective technique
for motivating employees.

At higher percent ,respondent response yes that the learning intervention

practices have impact on their skills , it helps them in acquiring new
knowledge and skills that ultimately helps in less error and higher output in
automobile sector.

10
