NARRATIVE REPORT ON SLAC SESSION DATED
OCTOBER 31,2019

Enclosure to Department Order No. 35, s. 2016 entitled “the Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12
Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the
Improvement of Teaching and Learning, the school conducted its training workshop last October 31,
2019. The Topic is all about Facilitation, Interdisciplinary Contextualization and Do’s and Don’t’s of
Power Point Presentation.

The program started with a prayer,followed by the singing of National Anthem and an energizer
through Video Presentation. An enthusiastic roll call was done before the opening remarks of Mr.
Aldrin L. Ragas.

The first facilitator, Mr. Julius V. Sinining, emphasized the do’s and don’t’s of facilitating, and the skills
that the facilitator should needs .A good facilitator encourages open communication,rapport building,
structuring and recording facts and feelings, developing synergy and effective techniques of
questioning. And the discourse of Child Protection Provisions. He reinforced this topic by advising
teachers that in the conduct of any undertakings be it simple or big what we deserve, a child deserves.

Next facilitator,was Mr. Al D. David. He discussed about Interdisciplinary Contextualization. By weaving


big ideas and important skills from different disciplines, teachers can maximize classroom time and
reinforce concepts and skills across subjects.Interdisciplinary instruction encourages connections
among disciplines to help learners construct stronger knowledge schema.

Last facilitator of the day was Mrs. Doris D. Morado tackled the do’s and don’t’s of power point
presentation, in making presentation more effective. There are many advantages of
using presentation software including organizing and showing media to supplement data and engage
visual learners, promoting interaction with the audience, and saving lessons and information for future
use. Presentation software also helps the presenter organize their content.

A challenging message by Mr. Alfredo P. David and the distribution of certificates closed the program.
