1. Problem Statement
This research belongs to Electric Machines and Machine modelling which is a very vast field in
Electrical Engineering. Induction motors are energy efficient having high starting torque and self-
starting characteristics. Due to these best characteristics as compared to other motors induction
motors are being vastly used in the industry and now they have found in electric vehicles but the
problem is that they are sensitive to high frequency transients which occur whenever the load on
the motor changes from high to low and vice versa. Due to the high frequency transients the
premature failure of the motor winding occurs and as well as It reduces the overall performance of
the motor and lifetime of a motor
Increase losses of the motors too. So, a high frequency model is needed to be designed to analyze
the frequency response under surge/transient condition. In order to protect a motor from transients
there is need of designing a precise and efficient protection scheme for an induction motor.
