CONDUCTION

In this image, heat is being transferred through conduction. The heat

from the flame is being transferred to the pot. The pot, being made out
of metal and therefore being a good conductor, is absorbing the heat
because of the contact between the flame and the pot itself.

In this image, heat is being transferred from the hot liquid to the
spoon, through conduction. The spoon, being made out of metal, is a
good conductor and easily absorbing the heat from the liquid because
of the loose outer shells, through the thermal contact between the
objects.

In this image, the heat is being transferred from the rod to the person’s
hand. Since the hand is in contact with the hot rod, the hand gets
burned because of the heat transfer between them.

In this image, heat is being transferred from the iron to the shirt. Even
though the shirt could be considered as an insulator and a poor
conductor, heat is still being transferred because of the direct contact
between them.

In this image, heat is being transferred from the flame to the fork.
Since the fork is in direct contact with the flame, heat is being
transferred from the flame to the fork.
CONVECTION
In this image, the heat is being transferred through the movement
of the boiling water. Since the heat is coming from the bottom, the
water at the bottom will heat and then rise up, being replaced by
the cooler water from the top that will heat as well.

In this image, the air inside the house is being heated through the
movement of the air. Since the heater is on the floor, at the bottom
of the house, the air at the bottom heats up then rises, to be
replaced by the cool air that will be heated up.

In this image, the chicken is being cooked by the convection

currents formed by the air being heated inside. The air at the
bottom is heated, therefore moving up and being replaced by
cooler air that will also be heated, creating the convection current
that spreads heat to be able to cook the chicken.

In this image, the hot air balloon is flying because of the air being
heated in the balloon. The air at the bottom is heated by the flame,
therefore moving up and causing the balloon to rise up while
cooler air moves down just to be heated and rise, creating a
convection current.
In this image, heat is being transferred through the convection
currents being formed by the wind. The air heated by the sun, in
the land, rises up to be replaced by the cooler breeze coming from
the sea.

RADIATION
In this image, heat is being transferred from the flame to the
person’s hands. There is no actual contact between the hands
and the flame, or else the person’s hands would burn, but
instead the heat is being transferred in the form of radiant
energy.

In this image, heat is being transferred from the sun to earth,

or to the house to be specific. The sun does not come in
contact with the house, or else the entire earth would burn
because of the close proximity, but instead the heat is
transferred in the form of electromagnetic waves.

In this image, the heat is being transferred from the microwave

to the food, the hamburger to be specific to this image. The
heat is being transferred through the microwave, without
anything coming in actual physical contact with the food to
keep it safe for consumption without contamination.
In this image, the heat is being transferred from the heater to
the person. The person is absorbing the heat through
radiation, without coming in physical contact with the heater as
to not get burned.

In this picture, the heat is being transferred from the flame to

the pot, in order to boil the water. The flame does not come in
full contact with the pot, but the put is still absorbing heat
because of the radiant energy being emitted, to be able to boil
the water.
