My name is Rey Adrian O. Templonuevo, a graduate student currently taking the Master of
Arts in Counseling at Philippine Normal University. As part of compliance with the
requirements on our course subject FUNDAMENTAL OF KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION
MANAGEMENT (INV 702 - ES), I am conducting a innovation research entitled “Exploring
Lived Experiences of Counselors-in-Training (CITs) as Bases for Promoting
Counselor’s Self-care and Well-being”. This phenomenological study aims to explore the
live experiences, struggles, challenges and coping strategies of counselors-in-training (CITs)
working in school setting in order to promote self-care and good well-being among counselors
in the Philippines, as part of the Mental Health Law (Republic Act 11036) signed by President
Rodrigo Duterte “that aims to enhance integrated mental health services, the promotion
of mental health services, protection of people who use said services, and the establishment
of Philippine Mental Health Council.”

I am writing you this letter to invite you to be a participant as an interviewee for the study, as
you qualify the requirements needed to be part of it. The interview will be 40-60 minutes, and
will be recorded for re-transcription, re-storying and data analysis. On the discretion of the
participant/s, he/she may choose not reveal sensitive information about herself and/or may
also choose go under an alias. Please rest assured that all information shared by the
participant with the researcher will be kept in high confidentiality and will be used solely for the
purpose of study.
