NOTEThis document assumes that you already have both the GNS3 Graphical User
Interface installed (GNS3-all-in-one) and the GNS3 VM integrated with GNS3. Please refer
to other guides for more details on how to install the GNS3 all-in-one package and how to
download and configure the GNS3 VM.
Select the version of file to install (if multiple are found) and then click Next >:
NOTEGNS3 will search the GNS3 images directory and theDownloads folder by default. If
the file is not found, you need to click on thefilename and then select the location of the
operating system files.
NOTE SelectFilename and notVersion option because an appliance may require multiple
files:
NOTEIf no file is found, you can click the Download button which will open a web browser
and redirect you to the vendor’s website so you can download the relevant image:
A confirmation prompt is displayed. Click Yes to install the appliance:
Click the Browse all Devices menu option to view the newly imported GNS3
appliance:

Optional: You can view the appliance settings by clicking Edit and then
Preferences:
Optional: Click on the appliance type (will vary) to view the appliance details:
USE THE APPLIANCE
Once you have imported the new appliance into GNS3, you can create
topologies which include the new appliance. Drag and drop the appliance from
the GNS3 Toolbar to the GNS3 Workspace. You may be prompted to upload
the appliance operating system to the GNS3 VM. Click Yes to upload the
appliance operating system.
Once you have created your topology, start the appliance: right click on the
appliance and click Start):
Open a console to the device: right click on the appliance and click Console:
The appliance console displays:
Start other devices in your topology as required and configure your GNS3
network.
