CHAPTER 1

People tend to belittle our identity , culture and society sadly I was one of those people but
through this various lesson I was able to appreciate and truly understand what are thus three
things truly are.

In this chapter I learned a lot and I used this things I learned and applied it to my life and for me
to be a better person a person who encourages and supports other people to become the better
version of themselves in this chapter I learned about the identity and the different studies on
social science this being the anthropology, sociology and political science but lets talk about the
identity the book defines it as the distinctive characteristics that defines an individual or is shared
by those belonging to a particular group but for me identity is a particular characteristic or
attribute that makes you stand out than others and makes you different from other people or in
other groups maybe even different culture but I can say that identity can change through out time
and by time and time this continues to change or to become different perhaps some will say it
sometimes evolves but our identity can be influenced by different factors this maybe our sex
either you be male or female or this maybe what nationality you are you're indetity may be
influenced by them some may even say that religion is also a factor that influences and makes
identity change through out time but let us talk about the three disciplines this are the
anthropology,sociology and political science now anthropology define in our book as the
systematic study of the biological, cultural and the social aspects of man but in laymans term this
is the study of the things that the humans did and achieved through out the life span of man this
is truly fascinating and very interesting because the achievements of man should be recognized
and should not be thrown in the dark we should acknowledge the people who made an effort in
making our world or society a better place meanwhile sociology was defined by the book and by
Anthony Giddens as the "study of human social life, groups, and society" in this field the people
who excelled August Comte, Herbert Spencer, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber this
people studied and made this field and study respectable in the eyes of men meanwhile the last
field and disciplines is the political science in this field and study it talks about and expounds
about the study of politics and how do power relations effect effect us and the members of the
society this was a really fascinating and interesting topic that I personally learned a lot knowing
this different fields and really helped me to truly understand the importance of the culture and in
our modern world and society and understanding what is identity and knowing the its true big
role in our society and in our culture also knowing that the identity can can be influenced and can
be altered through time and identity can be changed because of different factors knowing truly
that identity makes us different from on another makes as special and unique and also makes us
stand out from other society and culture this is a good thing because identity helps us to stand out
and become unique and we are not just the same with other cultures so therefore knowing all of
this we should take care and be proud and take care of our identity but not just our identity but
also the identity of our family our community and also the identity of our country and we should
try on reflecting and viewing other prospective through the use of the the three different fields,

Also in our modern world and society today people started and continuing to make more identity
this is process that people seem to do some people are supporting them and accepting them
whole heartedly and welcoming them with open arms any fighting with them in order for them
to get the rights and to be accepted freely but sadly and it is really unfortunate that there are
some people who tend to regret and not accept this new identities that people start to pursue or to
show to the modern world and society because they say that their standards and values were
crossed or was defined because of this people who are pursuing and expressing their true self and
their real identity to the real world some say this standard and values should be the one to set an
identity for us in a society but for me I we should not make this set of standard and beliefs b the
based and the foundation of our identity if we want to be different so be different if you want to
go against the flow then go against it just make sure you are not offending anyone or making
them feel bad about their identity then go for it because in order for us to achieve the best society
and the best version of our world we should be the best version of ourselves first and we should
be able to express ourselves freely without thinking that other people will judge you for being
yourself n that way we can be more effective member of the society and our community also I
understand that we will be able to learn and understand more in our society and culture if we
used the three disciplines and fields in our advantage because if we just take information without
viewing and truly understanding them we will be easily fooled and maybe retarded but if study
and viewed information using this three fields and discipline we will be more educated and will
not be fools and we can contribute more better because we truly understand and our ideas would
be worth listening to and be full of knowledge and will also have sense and we will not be
ignorant in this topic or in discussions and that is a good and decent advantage for us study and
disciplines in order to get true sense and we can understand each other much better this was my
