Microsoft Office Package:

Microsoft Office is a set of interrelated desktop applications, servers and services,
collectively referred to as an office suite, for the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X
operating systems. Microsoft Office Package is a set of interrelated desktop applications,
servers and services, collectively referred to as an office suite, for the Microsoft
Windows and macOS operating systems. It was first announced by Bill Gates on 1 August
1988, at COMDEX in Las Vegas. Microsoft Office is an office suite of applications, servers,
and services developed by Microsoft. Office is produced in several versions targeted
towards different end-users and computing environments. The original, and most widely
used version, is the desktop version, available for PCs running the Windows and macOS
operating systems.

Some of the desktop applications of Microsoft Office Package are:

• Microsoft Word

• Microsoft Excel

• Microsoft PowerPoint

• Spreadsheet

Word Processing Package:

There are many ways to communicate and share our ideas and thoughts with others. One of
the best and effective way is to use written words. In handwritten, we can’t make it neat
and clean. Application software can help in this regard. Therefore the software that helps in
electronically processing the text is called ‘word processor’ or ‘word processing package’.
word processor is software or a device that allows users to create, edit, and print
documents. It enables you to write text, store it electronically, display it on a screen, modify
it by entering commands and characters from the keyboard, and print it. Of all computer
applications, word processing is the most common. Word processing is a technique for
typing, deleting, editing, storing electronically in disks, formatting, manipulating, displaying,
and printing with the help of computer and printer. The word processor is a program that is
used to create systematic and organized document. MS word is an example of word
processing software. While there are still some standalone word processors in use today,
word processing began to move to personal computers in the 1980s. In the early days of the
PC, a word processor called WordPerfect became one of the most widely used applications
of any kind. Word processors are very similar to two other categories of software: text
editors and desktop publishing applications.
Spreadsheet Package:
Spreadsheet is a commonly used application package. It is very powerful and easy to use
and user application software. It is generally used with numbers and their complex
calculations. It helps to organize data in an orderly and meaningful pattern. It is widely used
in creating reports, graphs, and statistical, forecasting, and regression analysis. It helps
preparing profit and loss accounts, balance sheet. A spreadsheet is a sheet of paper that
shows accounting or other data in rows and columns; a spreadsheet is also a computer
application program that simulates a physical spreadsheet by capturing, displaying, and
manipulating data arranged in rows and columns. Tax statements, and inventory control.
Most of the spreadsheet packages can perform many common tasks of word processors
except the advanced option of desktop publishing. They also support the high level features
of object linking and embedding. In a spreadsheet, spaces that hold items of data are called
cells. Each cell is labeled according to its placement (for example, A1, A2, A3...) and may
have an absolute or relative reference to the cells around it. A spreadsheet is generally
designed to hold numerical data and short text strings. Spreadsheets usually provide the
ability to portray data relationships graphically. Spreadsheets generally do not offer the
ability to structure and label data items as fully as a database and usually do not offer the
ability to query the database. In general, a spreadsheet is a much simpler program than a
database program.

Microsoft PowerPoint:
Microsoft PowerPoint is a slideshow presentation program that was first developed by
Forethought, Inc. for the Macintosh computer in 1987. Microsoft purchased the software
three months later and offered it to Windows users in 1990. Ms PowerPoint is one of the
most popular on the windows platform, and widely used presentation applications.
PowerPoint is a complete presentation graphics package created by Microsoft. It is generally
available as a component of Microsoft Office suit. It can also be bought in the market as a
standalone program. It creates presentation that work like a slideshow. Each slide can
contain text, graphics, charts, graphs, and even music and sound effects,, The slides can be
arranged in proper order. The slideshow can also be exported as a movie file that could then
be burned to a DVD for playing in any DVD player. It gives everything that we need to
produce a professional looking presentation. A PowerPoint presentation is a group of slides
that you create either from scratch or a template that contain information you want to
share. Often, you show the presentation to others in an office setting, such as a sales
meeting, but you can also create slide shows for weddings and birthdays. When you display
the presentation to your audience, the PowerPoint slides take up the entire presentation
screen.

Bullets and Numbering:
Bullets and Numbering is a paragraph level attribute that applies a bullet character or a
numeral to the start of the paragraph. Applying a bullet is straightforward; numbering is a
bit more complicated. In bulleted lists, each paragraph begins with a bullet character.
Bullets are majorly used to break a long sentence into points so that a sentence can be
understood better by the reader. That's the usual use of bullets. Bullets can be shuffled as
there is no ordering. Bullets follow rule of parallelism. The information written in bullets can
be incomplete sentences. Numbering is used when you want the reader to follow some
steps in a sequential manner. The information in numbering is in full sentences. Parallelism
isn't followed in it. Usually the number of steps in a numbering are limited to max 10 and in
some cases 15. Numbered lists are usually used when you need to put the headings under a
specific order, ascending or descending. However, bullet points are used to get across your
stuff fully in rather a chronological order without emphasis on any one point particularly.
Bullets are also useful to make your presentation neat and are attractive, at first sight. In
bulleted lists, each paragraph begins with a bullet character. In numbered lists, each
paragraph begins with an expression that includes a number or letter and a separator such
as a period or parenthesis. The numbers in a numbered list are updated automatically when
you add or remove paragraphs in the list. You can change the type of bullet or numbering
style, the separator, the font attributes and character styles, and the type and amount of
indent spacing. Bullets display a small icon (such as •), suggesting that the order of the items
presented are arbitrary, while a numbered list suggests that the order is important either
from a chronological view point (such as instructions) or as a matter of priority (where "1" is
typically the most important item).
