The farmer already owns sheds for the sheep farm which needs little
modifications like mangers and watering trough.
The farmer also owns grazing area which minimizes the expenses on
feeding charges.
The farmer owns land for growing fodder crops and making hay. Which
will also minimize the hay expenses.
The farmers will use grazing area for routine feeding as a cheapest source
of nutrition and indigenous sheep are better suited for this open area
grazing. To get the better results the farmer will use deworming &
vaccination to avoid mortality and gain extra weight.
During winter season when the grazing area is not accessible, the parent
will be fed on maintenance ration.
For twining and triplets the farmer will use steaming ration in advance
stage of gestation.
Mortality Rate 2%
The summer flock will be sold after six months i.e September.
The winter stock will be sold after 9 months, i.e June-July. Which will
cover the feeding charges during stall feeding and also the carcass weight
will increase due to elongated period.
