Abstract
Introduction

Thermodynamics is a branch of science dealing with the study of heat

and energy changes. Calorimetry, a sub-topic of thermodynamics talks

about the measurement of heat within the system. It was derived from the

latin word “calor” which means heat and “metry” which means measure.

The heat changes within a specific system and can be measured through a

device called calorimeter.

The “Founder of Calorimetry” is Joseph Black , a Scottish physician,

and was the first person to recognize the difference between the heat and

temperature. In addition, the modern techniques of calorimetry was from the

French chemist Pierre Eugene Berthelot, and studied the problems

associated with the heat and measurement.
