Case 1:

Mang Donald’s Fast Food Restaurant’s cook had a nervous breakdown, in Novemer
2013. Without provocation, he stabbed and seriously wounded two of his kitchen helpers. The
restaurant’s administrators and workers were all shocked when they were informe about this
unfortunate happening.. They never suspected that this man who quietly went about doing his
daily chores had a history of mental illness.

Identifying the Problem:

The problem was one of the employees has a serious mental illness and has a hard
time trying to control his temper.

Areas of Concern:

Because of the cook having a serious illness, it causes him a big trouble to the
restaurant’s reputation by seriously wounding the two of his helpers.

5 Alternative Solutions:

1. Donald must know his employee’s condition and concerns.


2. He must ask his employees if they are having problems with their work.
3. He must tell his employees if they have a secret that may affect the company’s
reputation.
4. Let the mentally-ill employee rest or fire him.
5. Ask the other employees if they notice something wrong about their co-
workers.

Best Solution:

Avoid these kind of incident by knowing the conditons and concerns of the
employees. Mostly if they are having the serious condtion, that will affect the employee’s
efficiency and to the business. Always check them to moniter their status.
Theory of Collection:

Choosing this solution is most wise. Being aware of your employee’s condtions is
crucial for the efficiency of your business, otherwise, it may cause a lot of trouble,
damages reputation, and wasting money.

Case 2:

Mr. Nataraj, Regional Manager of Alpha Pvt. Ltd. Alpha makes and distributes
products from more than 10 international pharmaceutical and health care companies. Mr.
Nataraj isresponsible for managing existing clients and also to get new clients. He
manages a number of sales representatives. Important customers have a dedicated sales
representatives, while other sales representatives try to get new clients.One day an
important customer (Good Health Hospital) called Mr. Nataraj and complained that Mr.
Bhavan (the sales representative) was ineffective and insisted he be removed, or else they
would not give any business.

Identifying the Problem:

An important customer called Mr. Nataraj and complained that one of his
sales representative is an ineffective one and he insisted to be removed.

Areas of Concern:

Mr. Bhavan is actually an effective one, only the important customer


dislikes him because they have personal differences between them. And if
Mr. Nataraj have to be removed, it will lose his opportunity getting good
business with the hospital. Therfore, loosing him is not an option.

5 Alternative Solutions:

1. Transfer Mr. Bhavan to a better hospital to deal with.


2. Convince the important customer to set aside their personal issues.
