LITERATURE
Chinese Literature

 Chinese literature has very ancient beginnings. It was first recorded about 5,000 years ago
and has since documented the dreams and visions of people who number about one-fifth
of the world’s population.
 Chinese poetry has always played a very important role in Chinese culture.
 Chinese poetry is rich in symbolism. Symbolism is the art or practice of using conventional
or traditional objects and signs as a method of revealing or suggesting ideas, ideals, truths
or otherwise intangible states.
 Parable is a story designed to teach some truth, moral lesson, or spiritual lesson to the
readers. Oftentimes, it recounts a story in an agricultural setting, which reflects the
general life of the audience to which it is originally intended.
