1. First, check ethernet adaptor name and device type in device manager. It’s always better to
update your ethernet adaptor from intel site so that we get the option VLAN and if required, we
can tag a VLAN in our laptop. In general tab we need to check the location.

2. Find the settings in registry editor:

A. The path is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-

E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0007

In class, device 25 (count from top) would be the device for ethernet adaptor.

B. Create MonitorMode & MonitorModeEnabled:

Although both MonitorMode (QWORD is always 32 irrespective of OS) & MonitorModeEnabled
(QWORD is 32 in my setting) are created in my settings, we can omit MonitorModeEnabled. I
guess, it’s not required.

C. Once you create MonitorMode, check same should be visible in ControlSet001 and
ControlSet002 in same location (controlclass-device25-0007) automatically.
3. Restart laptop. Take a fresh trace through Wireshark and check P bits are captured.
