Science and Technology Fair and Festival of Talents held at Annafunan Elementary
School on September 17, 2019.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON 2019 SCHOOL-BASED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FAIR
AND FESTIVAL OF TALENTS
September 17, 2019

I. INTRODUCTION

Pursuant to DM No. 209, s. 2019 on Division Science and Technology Fair and
Camp, with the theme, “Environmental Stewardship and Sustainable Development
through Science and Technology" and DM No. 202, s. 2019 on Division Festival of
Talents, Annafunan Elementary School is in full support of DepEd programs, projects and
activities for the development of the learners’ talents and skills.

Meetings in the division, district and in the school were carried out prior to the
conduct of the school-based activity. The meetings focused on the plans, activity contest
on the different categories and coordinators’ assigned tasks of the said events. During
the meeting at the school level, the coordinators of the different clubs agreed to set the
two events on the same day due to overlapping of activities and trainings to be attended
by some teachers.

II. OBJECTIVES:
1. Manifest awareness on the importance of celebrating, “Science and Technology
Fair and Festival of Talents” in the school level.
2. Provide opportunities for the learners and teachers engage into productive,
meaningful and effective activities that promote interest and involvement of
everyone in science and technology fair and technolympics.
3. Appreciate learners’ outputs/performances that show significant impact in
everyday lives.

III. ACTIVITIES:

A wonderful opening of the program was conducted on September 17, 2019. It


started with the singing of the national anthem and followed with a prayer led by Ms.
Joyce Dayag and Mr. Sherwin Narag, the Math coordinators respectively.

Elmer J. Narag, Ph. D, the principal, gave his opening remarks. He emphasized
that both activities serve as an avenue to harness the talents and develop a 21 st century
learners equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and values.
The different club officers showcased their talents through interpretative poetry
and modern dance as their intermission numbers during the program.

The second part of the program was the contest proper. Prior to the start of the
contest, Mrs. Juliet B. Alan, the Science Coordinator and the over-all chairperson of the
activity, assigned first the venues of the different contested categories for proper
guidance of the contestants and the facilitators to achieve an orderly and smooth sailing
event.

The different contested categories for Science and Technology Fair were as
follows: Science Skills Olympics, Integrated Math and Science Quiz Bee, Science Quiz Bee (Grade
III, IV, V), Essay Writing, On the Spot Poster Making, Slogan while the Festival of Talents were:
Fruits and Vegetable Carving, Dish Gardening, ICT, Kasaysayan, Heograpiya at Kultura ng Piliponas
Quiz, On the Spot Poster Making (Grades IV-VI), Madulang Pagkukwento (Grades IV, V, VI),
Tagisan ng Talento sa Sulat Bigkas ng Tula (Grade VI), and Tagisan ng talento sa Interpretibong
Pagbasa (Grade IV).

In the afternoon, the Public Schools District Supervisors namely; Juana L. Castillo, Ph. D.,
Sir Ronnie Arellano and Sir Marlo Melad came in our school to monitor the activities. They
witnessed the on-going contests like dish gardening, food carving and poster-making. Our
principal, Elmer J. Narag, Ph.D. accompanied them to the different venues of the said activities.

The last part of the program was the recognition and awarding of certificates to the
winners in the different categories.

The School-Based affair was indeed a very successful one despite of the very limited time
for preparation. The sense of camaraderie, belongingness, unity and cooperation of the teachers,
parents, pupils and the school head were manifested before, during and after the affair.
