Carbon Black Connect 2019: A Revolution Is

Building Up In Cyber Security Strategies

The venue was London, and the annual Carbon Black Connect Conference held last week. Many
industry leaders sparked new ideas and educated the audience. The keynote speeches revolved
around the importance of cybersecurity infrastructure, diversification, and understanding of the
hacking community.
Several speeches were on cloud technology, which emphasizes on the future revolution in the IT
industry. Many speakers pointed out the need for new contracts for the cloud. So, in any case,
companies must not compromise data security and data privacy. Allow me to summarize the
ideas of the conference in a few paragraphs. So you must read down.

A cloud revolution is emerging

The prevalent theme of the conference was cloud technology. The CEO of Carbon Black Patrick
Morley Said in words that a fundamental revolution is coming in cybersecurity, and it will be the
cloud. Every big data business will cripple without cloud-based applications. So, the company
acquired VMware. But the company will not neglect on-premises commitments.
He also added that cloud-based analytics would equip cybersecurity companies with the right
tools to identify potential hackers and thwart them down.

Security contracts and safeguarding the business

Many businesses are adopting Cloud-based technologies or in the process of making a deal.
That’s where security contracts become a severe matter. All companies need agreements that
benefit them in the long run. If any little clause remains neglectful, then it can cause the loss of
time and effort in legal hurdles.
A senior analyst from Forrester Enza Iannopollo said that organizations must use a new sub-
contract to safeguard themselves from potential legal nightmares. She emphasized that contracts
can be a headache for the organization. But contracts prepared with all technical details can
eliminate future fuss. She also added that organizations must work only with the services that
they trust with data privacy.

Considering hackers as regular office workers

The conference was majorly about cybersecurity infrastructure, and many speeches pointed out
that the word “hacker” is a negative term. It shows the attitude of the company towards
cybercrime.
Scott Lundgren, the CTO of Carbon Black, said that hackers are like ordinary people. They get
up and do the work just like other office workers. But their effort is to steal the data. And we can
beat hackers because cybersecurity is a real fight.
He also added that an organization must detect hacking behavior and use it for the benefit of the
organization; not sidelining hackers. We must tighten network security in a way that hackers
forget to go to the problem area.

Diversity
Every company can benefit from diversity. That’s why organizations must not segregate gender
parity and hire people with skills regardless of gender orientation, sexual preference, race,
language, and religion. A diverse team can build a community that can produce extraordinary
productivity.
Dian Maria Molaovan UKI cyber operations said that sometimes you have to change to bring a
change.

Wrapping up
The Carbon Black Connect conference was an event that brought industry leaders at one point.
And you can expect more at next year’s conference.
