From the wide array of programs offered at Jacobs my mind finally settled on the ones pertaining to
mobility but in depth research nudged me in the direction of industrial engineering and management
program at Jacobs as I found it very diverse and applicable in the practical context. “It has been said that
engineers make things, whereas industrial engineers make things better”, this quote on the Jacobs
website struck a chord in my heart and now with a sense of excitement and anticipation I have chosen to
pursue the B.Sc. Industrial Engineering and Management program as offers a varied juxtaposition of
process engineering, operations research, supply chain management, engineering design, logistics and
project management etc.
I find this program appealing because like all other programs at Jacobs university, it is research oriented
and its state of the art laboratories and mobility labs afford unique opportunities for research. The
duration also appeals to me as it is a three year program as opposed to the conventional four years. I like
the fact that the program is structured in such a way that there is a lot of choice and flexibility in the first
two years. The third year is my most favorite part as it offers the World Track which to me is the most
promising feature of the program.
