LEARNING PLAN

GRADE: Grade 7
UNIT TOPIC: Solutions
UNIT STANDARDS: The learners demonstrate an understanding of some important properties
of solutions

LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
Investigate properties of unsaturated or saturated solutions
S7MT-Ic-2

Express concentrations of solutions quantitatively by preparing different concentrations of

mixtures according to uses and availability of materials
S7MT-Id-3

LEARNING TARGETS:

Identify the different characteristics of different common materials found at home.

Investigate the factors for a material to identify as saturated and unsaturated.

EXPLORE
ACTIVITY 1: HOOK ACTIVITY (Sci-awit)
Instruction: The teacher will play a song that is related to the topic that will be sing by the
students
ACTIVITY 2: WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS?
Instruction: The student will write their initial knowledge using IRF model.
EQ: Are solutions always liquid? Will all solids dissolve in water? How fast do solids
dissolve in water?
INITIAL REVISE FINAL

ACTIVITY 3: RECALLING (KWL CHART)

Instruction: The students will fill the Know part of the chart by writing their ideas about
solution
KNOW WHAT LEARNED

ACTIVITY 4: INITIAL CHECKING (Multiple Choice)

-The teacher will check the students’ initial knowledge about the topic before proceeding on the
discussion.
ACTIVITY 5: PRE-ACTIVITY
The students will identify the ideas from the song that defines solutions.
Afterwards the teacher will give the instruction on the activity the students will do.

ACTIVITY 6: RECALLING (KWL CHART)

Instruction: The students will fill the What part of the chart by writing their ideas about
solution
KNOW WHAT LEARNED

ACTIVITY 7: EXPERIMENT TIME (LABORATORY EXERCISES)

Instruction: The students will perform the laboratory activity by investigating properties of
unsaturated or saturated solutions, and expressing concentrations of solutions quantitatively by
preparing different concentrations of mixtures according to uses and availability of materials

dissolve in water?
Initial Revised Final

DEEPEN
ACTIVITY 9: REPORTING
The students will report their findings in the class
ACTIVITY 10: DISCUSSION
The teacher will discuss the content of the lesson

ACTIVITY 11: POSTER MAKING

The students will make a poster making about proper used, disposal and handling of different
chemical solutions.

ACTIVITY 12: WHAT HAVE YOU UNDERSTAND? (EQ)

Instruction: The student will write their final knowledge using IRF model
EQ: Are solutions always liquid? Will all solids dissolve in water? How fast do solids
dissolve in water?
