will do the greeting more than once. Everyone ready? OK and begin… (Observe
the students as they conduct their greetings, correct any students that seem to be
going overboard if necessary)
Intern: Alright class, that was a great way to start the meeting, now yesterday
was National Child Health Day. There are many ways to be healthy. Eating good
food, drinking water, exercise, and even things to keep your mind healthy. To get
us ready for this test we are going to do some stretches to get the blood flowing.
OK now first stretch we are going to do is reach high into the sky, really tall, all
the way up! Good job everyone, I think some of you grew a few inches after that.
One more time just for a few more inches of height. (Each stretch should be
about 30-40 seconds). Next, we are going to do some hand stretches. You all will
be doing some writing, so we want to get your hands ready. We’re going to do
what I like to call finger waves (demonstrates finger wave). Everyone ready?
Let’s begin (30-40 seconds) Those fingers look nice and loose. One more time
just to make sure. (30-40 seconds). All right folks, one last hand stretch. This one
you put your finger tips together (demonstrates for the class) and push against
each other. We’re going to do this one about two times as well.
Intern: Alright now for our final part it will be to help get your minds ready. I
want you to close your eyes, and take a deep breath, in through the nose and out
through the mouth. We can do this one about three times just to make sure our
minds are nice and ready. (Observe the students doing the breathing exercise).
