The Blind Man with a Lamp

A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, _____________________.

Once there lived a blind man in a small town. He always carried a lighted
lamp in his hand whenever he went out at night.

On one dark night, he was going with his lighted lamp in his hand. A group of
men were passing that way.

They saw the blind man and made fun of him. They said," O Blind man, why
do you carry the lighted lamp. Aren’t you blind and cannot see anything?

The blind man politely said, "This lamp is not for me, but for you people who
have eyes. You may not see a blind man coming and push him. They felt ashamed
and begged their pardon.

The moral of the story is think twice before you speak.

That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

The Milk Maid

A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, _____________________.

A milk maid was carrying a pail of milk on her head and was to market to sell
it. As she went along she fell into day dreaming.

She thought that she would buy eggs with the money she got by selling milk.
After the eggs were hatched, she would have a large number of chickens.

They would fetch her high price. She would then buy fine silk dress for
herself and look more beautiful. Princes would come to marry her, but she
would toss her head and refuse them.

While thinking so, she did really toss her head in false pride. Down fell the pail on the
ground. The whole milk was split and all her plans came to naught.

The moral of the story is count not your chickens before they are hatched.

That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

A Fox and a Goat

A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, _____________________.

A fox was walking near a well. Somehow by incident he slipped in. It was not
a very deep well. He tried his best to get out but could not.

At that time a very thirsty goat passed by the well and saw the fox there. She
asked the fox what he was doing there.

The cunning fox replied that he had himself jumped into the well. I find it very
cool and pleasant. If you want to drink sweet and cold water, come down and
experience the pleasure here.

Without thinking of the result she jumped into the well. The fox at once
jumped on her back, and with another jump he was out of well. The fox smiled at the
poor goat and went his way leaving behind the goat to repent.

The moral of the story is look before you leap.

That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

The Farm Dog and the Wolf

A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, _____________________.

Once there was a wolf. He came to a farm. He met the farm dog. The dog
was quite healthy. The wolf was thin. The wolf asked him the secret of his health.

The dog replied that he kept watch over the farm and his master fed him
well. The dog advised him, “Do work honestly and the master will feed you too.”
The wolf agreed.

The wolf noticed some marks round the dog’s neck. He asked the dog
about it. The dog replied that during the day he had to wear the chain around his
neck. The wolf was shocked to hear this. He said,” I would rather be free and
starve than be a slave to anybody.

The bottom line my friends, what we learnt from the story is better be hungry
than in chains.

That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

King Bruce and the Spider

A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.

Once upon a time there was a king in Scotland. His name was Robert Bruce.
He fought many battles. Once he was defeated. He ran away from the battle field.
He hid himself in a cave.

There was a spider in that cave. It was trying to reach the roof of the cave. It
failed again and again. After every fall, the spider tried again. It did not lose heart.
The spider reached its web in the seventh attempt.

The spider taught King Bruce a great lesson. It filled him with new hope and
courage. He came out of the cave and gathered his forces. This time he fought
bravely. He was successful in making his country free.

The bottom line my friends, what we learnt from the story is try, try again till
you succeed

.That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

The Slave and the Lion
A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, _____________________.

Once there was a slave in Rome. His master was very cruel. He ran away to a
forest. He went into a cave to live there. He slept in the cave. Suddenly he woke up
to hear the roar of a lion. He saw a lion there.

The lion was limping. The slave saw a thorn in the lion's paw. He pulled it out.
The lion felt relief. Both became friends.

One day, the slave was caught by his master's men. He ordered him to be
thrown before a hungry lion. When the slave was brought before the lion, the lion did
not kill him. It was the same lion. The lion licked his feet. All were surprised at this
strange sight. The slave was set free. The lion was given to him as a reward.

The bottom line my friends, what we learnt from the story is kindness never
goes unrewarded.

.That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

The Stag and his Horns

A very good morning to the honorable judges, dear teachers and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, _____________________.

Once a stag was drinking water in a pool. He saw the reflection of his horns in
the water. He felt proud. When he saw the reflection of his legs, he felt ashamed.
Just then, he heard the barking of a hunter's dogs.

He ran away as fast as he could. His thin legs helped him to escape. He
realized that his ugly-looking legs were his real friends.

Soon, his beautiful horns proved an enemy to him. They got entangled in a
bush. He tried his best to release himself. But he could not succeed. The dogs
reached there. They killed him.

The bottom line my friends, what we learnt from the story is all that glitters is
not gold.

That’s the end of my story. Thank You.

The Elephant Rope
A very good morning to the honourable judges, dear teachers, and my lovely friends.
Today, I would like to share with you; my story entitled, “The Elephant Rope”.

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the

fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front
leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could break away from
their bonds in anytime but they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and
made no attempt to get away. The trainer then replied, “when they are very young and
much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to
hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away.
They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their
bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that
we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

That’s the end of my story. Thank You.
