MEETING HALF WAY

Slacker, escape student and procrastinator; few of the staple qualities known for a delinquent
student. Many students nowadays are viewed as a burden not because of low IQ, or incapability to do
work, but because of the attitude. Teachers are bugged out by the students’ unpleasing behavior inside –
or even outside the class. Besides, a teacher’s work is never really done even after class. They answer the
social needs of the students and stand as their second parents. But in the end they are the ones affected
by their students’ carelessness. The parents, however blame the teachers for their child’s intolerable
behavior. Though the parents are framed for their negative discipline and violent ways that influence their
offspring, they choose to turn over the guilt to the teachers. These are the everyday struggles of the
teacher to dwell in different attitude of students in every classroom. Parents’ disinterest on their child’s
educational progress is clearly reflected on their attendance at PTA meetings. The parents are the
foundation of the family source of all initial influence. Aggression towards their children is far more serious
than one could expect. Technically, they are the child’s first teacher –teachers of love and respect.
Whenever a student becomes a problem, reflection is lies in the their actual support and parenting skill.
According to the recent study in Harvard University, “Parents who fail to discipline their offspring are
creating a generation of angry children who lash out in the classroom.” Parenting leaves a huge impact to
their children and teachers can’t work miracles or undo parent’s failures. It is the teachers work to educate
and it is the parent’s job to secure that the students do so well.
