Question: 1

Please tell me something about yourself?

Answer: Quite a Tricky Question Folks! This is the first question. But, before Answering,
Your Body Language should reflect that you feel Pleasure in answering this Question

So, Maintain a Good Smile on your face and Keep your voice Bold with confidence as first
question determines the future of remaining interview.

So here how you should start:

There are 2 scenarios:

Scenario: 1 - If it’s a panel of interviewers (Indian/International):

**Never Say Sir or Mam as it’s unprofessional in Corporate Sector.

I am <Name> <Surname> from Delhi. I did my schooling from <name of school> and my
graduation/post-graduation from <name of institution>.

I am a person with positive attitude and with a Dynamic nature. I believe that I could be an
asset to your company.

I am fond of singing and reading spiritual texts sometimes. (Get Ready to Sing as well, choose
a Good Song which suits you ).You may also try to tell the hobbies which you think will
attract them as may convince them to select you as many hobbies such as reading, writing will
make them believe in your communications and your comprehensive abilities.
Now is it enough? Well, NO!

Interview is for knowing you as a person and not the history of your life.

So, let them know about your achievement in a brief manner in college/school. (Do not Reflect
any arrogance, Try to be humble)

What if you are an experienced person?

In that case, do not explain your hobbies.

Introduce with your name and your location, Brief out your education, strengths, professional
experience with company name (most important)

In professional experience, please mention the technology in which you work and your
expertise in it (as this is the reason for which they have invited you for interview).

It will be a great advantage if you quickly learn the skills provided you in job description and
tell them that you know about it along with other skills.

**What not to say in the Answer?

 Do not tell the history of your life


 Do not say anything which you cannot justify(skills/abilities)
 Do not Say abbreviation of school, college.
 Do not say that I like watching TV/listening music as they are not considered a trait of
personality.

Which is your dream job?


As I conveyed Earlier, I am looking for a job which can give me responsibilities and new
experiences and also, an environment where I can utilize my skills.
**Salary should never be mentioned in this question.

Tell us about the company you are working with and the company you have applied for?

Name of company, explain the company achievement in terms of revenue and achievements like
involvement in government schemes and contribution to IT/Specific sector.

For Example: HCL Technologies is one of the most reputed company globally and an
$8.9Billion Enterprise.

And appreciate company by using “It’s always a dream to work for such a reputed company

Why you should be hired?

I am extremely enthusiastic about joining this company and contributing to the company to my
best potential.

I am a Smart working and confident person who never Gives up to hard situations and possess
the ability resolve them till end. Moreover, I am curious to dive deeper into this field.

Along with that, I am a good team player and always ready to take on new opportunities to
utilise my skills to the fullest extent.

**Get ready to justify what you just said. Give examples of your school/college and avoid
family situations as it may make you emotional.

Why did you chose “Particular Stream” in Graduation?


I sincerely wanted to comprehend how “Technology/subject” works, and I realised that
studying “subject” in the graduation will be a great way to learn the practicality of it.

Secondly, if they ask you what else you researched on this subject before graduation, prepare
some points before interview and answer them wisely.

Never Say that “It had lot of scope”. :D

Money is necessary for survival, But, Money Does not motivate me, but I will say as a

motivation is a big source of motivation.

 Inappropriate body language(Overconfidence/Under confidence)
 Criticism of the companies with which you worked/working
 Unwanted Exaggeration(especially in resume )
 Saying what examiner will like and not what you are in real.
 Non-Formal Attire
 Do not let other speak in Group discussion.
 Bringing any edible thing or a water bottle in room.
 Mobile phone on loud/Vibration.
 Answering what you like and what not interviewer asked.
 Using words like “salary” and “promotion”.
 Tapping the table with fingers
 Interrupting the interviewer when questions are being put on.
 Leaving interview room without shaking hands/greetings.
 Thinking that Company wants to hire you desperately
 Using heavy vocabulary
 Using words like “you know”, “OK”, “obviously”.
