The project area should sustain an average volume of daily fish unloading preferably 5 M.T. per day; It should be proximate to the fishing grounds with known high sustainable yield or vast fishery resources, The number and characteristics of fishing vessels actively operating in the locality including its influence areas should be considered; The presence of numerous fishermen and fish buyers/tracrs at the project site should be considered; For ice plant and cold storage project, the presence of numerous ice users and storing practice at the project area should be considered; and There should be significant volume of ice supply gap and cold storage requirement at the project site. U Technical Aspect . The proposed site should have safe and well defined entrance and approach from the open sea with adequate depth at all tides; It should have sufficiently large, deep: and naturally protected basin and possibly without the need to provide breakwater and other protective structures which would reduce wave or storm effects; The proposed development should cause minimal damage to and/or provide suitable maintenance of vegetation and wildlife; The proposed development should cause minimal damage to and/or provide suitable maintenance of vegetation and wildlife; The site must conform with the zoning regulation of the locality; The site must have ample space for the future expansion; For the ice plant and cold storage project, the site is preferably at the consumer center of the locality; . J Social Aspect The land for the project should be government-owned or in case privately owned, acquisition cost should be evaluated against all other factors to be considered in the site selection, The proposed site should be acceptable to the intended beneficiaries; Acceptability of the site/location of the proposed project by both the fishermen and LGU; Accessibility of the site to all types of land, water and air transportation faahties and connected to secondary/main roads, The proposed site should be generally peaceful; and
