14-point acupressure was found to improve upper and lower extremity muscle strength in patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke. The study used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with control group. Acupressure stimulates nerve endings and blood vessels, causing the release of substances like histamine and nitric oxide that dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow and tissue perfusion. This leads to improved motor function and strength in the extremities. The 14-point acupressure technique was concluded to be an effective intervention to include in the treatment of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.

Strength Level In Patients With Non Haemorrhagic Stroke Jurnal Belitung Nursing Journal Volume dan Volume 4 No.2 168-176 Halaman Tahun 2018 Penulis Lalu Hersika, Suharyo Hadisaputro, Mardiyono, Desak Made Wenten Parwati Reviewer Kelompok 3 Tanggal 19 Oktober 2019 Latar Belakang Accoupresure is considered as one form of holistic therapy that can improve tissue perfusion to inprove motor function in patient with stroke. Tujuan Penelitian To analyze the effect of 14 point accupresure on upper and lower extremity muscle strength in patients with non haemorrhagic stroke patient Metode Yang Quasi Expremiental pretest and posttest control group design Digunakan Pembahasan Presence of nerve endings and blood vessels that are widely present around the accupressure point will enlarge the response. Mast cells release histamin, heparin adn dab kinin protese that cause vasodilatator of blood vessels. Histamin causes the release of nitric oxide from vasculer endothelium, which is the mediator of various cardiovascular, neurological, immune, digestive and reproductive reaction. Mast cell also release Platelet Activation Factor (PAF), which is then followed by serotonin release from platelet. Serotonin stimulate nociceptors themselves and increase the nociception response to bradikinin. Bradikinin is a powerfull vasodilatator that cause increased vascular permeability, which result in an increase in blood circulation of the tissues that will lead to an improvement in skeletal abnormalities that can more rapidly improve motor function on extremity. Kesimpulan The 14 acuperssure is effective to increase upper and lower extremity muscle strength in patients with non haemoragic stroke. This intervention can be a part of operational standard of procedures in the treatment of non haemoraghic stroke patient. Acpressure therapy should be a part of clinical nurse competencies in caring stroke patient.
