PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF MANAGEMENT

Objective:-

To establish a foundation for understanding basic tenets ofmanagementprinciples. This will be


achieved by studying the following:

1. Evolution of management and basic concepts

2. Understanding the nature and purpose of planning

3. Understandingthenatureand purpose of organizing

4. Understanding nature and purpose of staffing

5. Understanding nature and purpose of leading

6. Understanding the system and process of controlling

Definition of management (1 Hour)

(b) Evolution of management thought and different approaches. (4 Hours)

(c) Social & Ethical Issues in Management. (3 Hours)

Learning Objective: Understanding of the conceptual framework of management, its nature in


terms of its being science or art or profession and getting an insight of the theoretical framework.

managing, organization structures, levels and its types, concept of span of management.
