power of introverts’ by Susan Cain and ‘How to Be Good at Managing Both Introvert and Extroverts’
by Rebecca Knight, both giving information about Who is Introverts and Extroverts? What is
Introversion and Extroversion? Why need a balance ambivert? Susan Cain explaining about differences
of introverts and extrovert’s life style and working style, where they coping in daily life. She notes that
introversion is more about, how introverts respond to stimulation, including social stimulation, where
introverts feels at their most alive and their most switched-on and their most capable when they are
quieter, more low-key environments. Susan Cain hinting current intuitions, schools and workplace,
where they are designed mostly for extroverts, to whom craving large amount of stimulation. On the
other hand, Rebecca Knight explain, what is the best way to adopt the management style and how a
managing person can achieve his or her goal to have his or her employees operating at their peak level
of energy, efficiency and motivation, where his or her employees compromised of introverts and
extroverts. Rebecca Knight, point out on how to manage vastly different personalities and work
preferences, and how to draw out introverts and extroverts to listen the managing person. I
completely agree with both Susan Cain and Rebecca Knight’s statement, where I experiencing myself
as Introverts. In connection, I’m able to perform well when I work alone on any given task, even though
as a leader and as well as a student but, when it comes to group works, group tasking or group
assignment, I couldn’t perform well because I can’t formulate any thought instantly unless I has been
informed in advance

I do agree with Susan Cain claim that introvert student actually get better grades and are far
more knowledgeable according to research even though vast majority of teachers reports believing
that the extroverts is an ideal student. While, most of the workplace atmosphere is open plan office,
where employee subject to constant noise and gaze of colleagues. When it comes to leadership,
introverts often qualify to leadership positions, even though they tend to be very careful and less risk
taker. Interestingly, research done by Adam Grant at Wharton School revealed that introverted leader
often delivers better outcomes than extroverts do, because when they are managing proactive
employees run with their ideas, whereas an extroverts can, quite unwittingly, get so excited about
things that they’re putting their own stamps on thing, and other people’s ideas might not as easily
then bubble up to surface. It is much better, for everyone to go off by themselves, generate their own
ideas, freed from distortions of group dynamics, and then comes together as team to talk them
through in a well-managed environment and take it from there. By the way, social skills are important,
and not abolishing of teamwork at all, but the problem that people have facing today in fields like
science and in economics are so vast and so complex that people are going to need armies of people
coming together to solve them by working together. More freedom should give to introverts to be
themselves, the more likely that they are to come up with their own unique solutions to those
problems.

I don’t see any argument with Rebecca Knight, where she explains how to create an
environment that maximizes each colleague’s strengths and temperaments an ensures that
everyone’s need are met. First, managing person must educate himself by knowing who are part of
his team and what drives them. For instance, extroverts done their job promptly, comfort with
multitasking and risk taking. They are energized by social gatherings and share ideas. In contrast,
introverts work more deliberately and slowly. Introverts always not prefer multitasking in given time
and typically dislikes noise and crowds. Second, managing person must talk to his or her team, where
some introverts couldn’t have identified quickly. He or she must should encourage frank and open
conversation with people as individuals and as a team to handle colleague’s preference. As Gino said,
“a properly balanced team has the strengths and skills of both personality sets, whereas a team of too
many extroverts can suffer from ego issues, while a team of too many introverts can be lacking a
shared team dynamic. Third, rethink the workday, by using gathered information to structure the
workday trough giving flexibility to team member for manage their workdays as they see fit. According
to Susan Cain, extroverts should be encouraged to socialize and share ideas when they feel compelled
to and give introverts the freedom to take a walk to recharge or work from the coffee shop next door,
if they need a break from a team togetherness. Fourth, promote privacy for introverts, whereas they
need private space to get work done and make sure extroverts don’t get discouraged by introverts,
who’re retreating to their cubes. Fifth, encourage introverts to speak up, by telling them in advance
that they need to contribute, so they come prepared, since a direct request for feedback might put
introverts on the spot. It is very helpful to introverts can think about how they want to convey their
ideas rather than having to improvise at the moment, teach extroverts to listen. Extrovert often bring
enthusiasm and candour to meeting, but they must be taught to listen, reflect, and became more open
to the perspectives of their more silent. Ask them to tweak their behaviour to allow other to heard
and challenge them to draw their more introverted colleagues out while still staying true to
themselves.

In conclusion, I agree to both Susan Cain and Rebecca Knight’s points, where introvert or the
extroverts should be being balanced as an ambivert. Some measurement has to take by extroverts,
which is stop constant group works, go to wilderness and take a good look at what’s inside his or her
own suitcase, whether it full of book or full of champagne glasses nor skydiving equipment and why it
is there. While, introverts probably have the impulse to guard very carefully in his or her suitcase and
need to open up other people because the world needs introverts. On the other hand, managing
person should remember that balance social spaces with private’s ones, send meeting agendas in
advance and occasionally ask them for written feedback, summon the courage to share them and
allow people to work the way they want to. A managing person should not assume he or she already
know about introversion and extroversion is about, don’t overload his or her team with meetings and
don’t let a certain dominant personality do all the talking. Simultaneously, world need an ambivert
when it comes to creativity and productivity, because when psychologists looks at the lives of the most
creative people, what they find are people who are very good at exchanging ideas and advancing ideas,
but who also have streak of introversion in them because solitude is a crucial ingredient often to
creativity.
