Character Analysis
Illustrate a character from the
book and include a brief bio and
list of character traits. Use at least
three pieces of evidence or quotes
from the book that support your
character analysis
Social Media Profile
Create a social media page for a
character. Be sure to include an
illustration of the character, as
well as their basic information
(age, location), interests/likes,
family, and friends,, Create at
least 5 posts that they would have
made during that time. You can
use a template if needed!
Collage
Create a collage that represents
the themes and main events of the
book. On the back, write a brief
description about what some of
the pictures symbolize and how
they encompass the meaning of
the book.
Compare and Contrast
Compare and contrast yourself to
one or more characters from the
book. Demonstrate your
understanding of character traits
and development using a venn
diagram or other representation
of your choosing.
Playlist
Choose a character and create a
Spotify playlist of at least 10 songs
that shows their progression
throughout the book.Write a brief
explanation as to why you chose
each song and how it represents
them.
Free Verse
Create a free-verse, song, or rap
that encompasses the themes or
main events of the book, You may
present it in oral or written form.
Be sure to use at least 5 instances
of figurative language.
Making Connections

Write a reflection, record a brief
podcast, or create a poster/venn
diagram detailing how the
criminal justice system has
changed (or stayed the same)
from the 1930s to now.
Timeline
TKAM takes place in the 1930s.
What else was going on in the
United States at that time?
Research the time period and
create a brief timeline. Identify
any similarities in social issues,
attitudes, or political climate, and
reflect on how/if Harper Lee
reflected it in the book.
Act It Out
With a partner or small group,
choose a scene from the book to
reenact. You may record it or
present it live to the class. After
your performance, explain why
you chose the scene and why it
was so important to the story.
Journal Entry
Write a journal entry from the
perspective of one of the
characters following a major 
event. Try to understand their
emotions and thoughts at that
time.
Map It Out
TKAM takes place in Maycomb,
Alabama. You will be provided
with a map of the fictional town
and landmarks. Label the
locations where some of the most
important events in the book took
place.
Interview
What unanswered questions did
you have after reading? Imagine
that you have the opportunity to
interview a character from the
book. What would you ask them,
and how would they respond?
Create an interview transcript or
reenact the interaction with a
partner.
