Print Head Pinboard Installation Steps

For better compatibility and management of board card, DX5 print head board and DX7 print head board
use the same circuit, but the connection line number is different, so Pinboard connection is applied, shown
as the following picture:

The Pinboard uses horizontal plug. In order to connect firmly, 31 pin adopts double straight blade plug and
35 pin adopts the snap-jointed plug, and is equipped with four each 15 cm- long flexible cable. Through test,
the thicker and more flexible cable we provide is suitable for connection from the print head to the print
head board. The connection is firm and won’t loose at all while printing.

Attention please: The word “Top” shall be put upwards or to the left while connecting. J1, J2 belong to
35pin; J3, J4 belong to 31pin.

1．First connect 31pin head wire: with new base and new wire, you need to push inside with strength.

2. Connect another 31pin wire.

3. Connect 35pin wire. Tweezers or flatheaded tools are suggested using.

Withhold clips on both sides and press forth with strength. Flexible cable is thick, so it’s much likely that
one end is pressed down, while the other stands up. Afterwards, the back needs to be checked whether the
middle of clip is also pressed inside. If not, you need to use tweezers or fingernails to press the middle again
until the whole clip is completely pressed inside, shown as follows:

4. When connecting the other 35pin flexible cable, you will encounter the same problem. Then you must
use something like tweezers to squeeze the middle of the clip. The key is to make the clip completely be
inside.

5. When you do as the instructions above rightly and finish connecting, you will get this as
follows:

6. Connect print head with the print head board：

NOTE: Print Head 1 and Print Head Board J12 shall be connected with “Top” side J3 of
the Pinboard, and J1 of 35 pin the base below the print head.

Print Head Board J14 shall be connected with the “Top” backside J4 of the Pinboard, and
J2 of 35Pin the base above the print head.
ATTENTION: After DX7 print head is installed on the base, the data cable is to the left.
DX5 is just the opposite.
