Title: That’s Not What Happened

Initial Response Question Selected: Did you associate the section with any real life
experiences you have had?
Initial Response Answer: I did not relate to the section I read today. But I feel like
someone else has that I talk to daily and I was there listening to their story like how the
two characters were doing.

Initial Understanding Question Selected: Were any parts confusing?

Initial Understanding Answer: There were no parts confusing yet.

Developing Understanding Question Selected: How did the characters change? How
are the characters developed?

Developing Understanding Answer: The characters changed by them writing letters

about their past and truth. I think that changed them for the better because now they
have gotten the truth out and they don’t have to worry anymore.

Developing a Critical Stance Question Selected: In your opinion, is this a good story?
Why or why not?
Developing a Critical Stance Answer: I think that this is a good story. I like it because it
is kind of dramatic and mysterious. I enjoy reading this book because it is very
interesting to me. I have learned so much from this book already. Which is saying a lot
because most books never interest me.

Thursday
Genre: Fiction
Title:That’s Not What Happened

Initial Response Question Selected: How did the story affect you?
Initial Response Answer: The story affected me by thinking and wondering about how
other people’s lives are. Like we never know the person’s story and why they are acting
like they are. We judge too quickly and reality that person could have been having a bad
day.
Initial Understanding Question Selected: Were any parts confusing?
Initial Understanding Answer: At first it confused me but I soon realized that it was a
flashback to the past.

Developing Understanding Question Selected: What atmosphere is created?

Developing Understanding Answer: The character was kind of throwing a fit in the
middle of the store so it made the atmosphere awkward. IT was still understandable to
me because I knew what they were going through but other people around didn’t know
what was going on.

Developing a Critical Stance Question Selected: Is this story plausible? Why?

Developing a Critical Stance Answer: I think this story is reasonable because it seems
and could possibly be a real life event.
