LESSON OUTLINE

During the lesson the learner will:

1. Introduction: Define paraphrase


2. Motivation: Play a Word Game
3. Instruction/Delivery: Participate in a lecture and discussion.
4. Enrichment: Know the purpose of paraphrase

Procedure- Lesson 1
Introduction:
1. Inform the students about the learning targets of the lesson.

I can define paraphrase


I can enumerate the qualities of a good paraphrase
I can demonstrate comprehension by paraphrasing a text using one’s own words

2. The teacher will present the lesson and students will give their ideas about the given topic. Once the students
share their ideas, give further definition of paraphrase

Paraphrase- is a clearly restating in your own words the ideas and thoughts of another person.

Motivation: The teacher will group the students into 2, each group will pick a word, based on the word that they
chose they need to describe it on their own words then their classmates will guess what word is being described.
Ex. (Vampire)- Blood is their food

Instruction/Delivery:
1. After defining what is paraphrase the teacher will discuss its qualities.
 Thorough- it will include all of the author’s primary ideas or finding
 Accurate- it will reflect what actually wrote
 Fair- your choice of language will be even; handed as possible
 Objective- you will avoid voicing your own opinion on the topic or on the quality of the source of
texts

 Changing sentence structure
 Combining sentences
 Unpacking sentences
 Documentation

Enrichment:
Tell the students that paraphrase is a good way to prepare written reports.

Evaluation: the teacher will provide an original text then the students will going to make a paraphrase about the
given text:
1. New York City an engaging city because of its good ambiance is one of the most beautiful tourist
