BULLYING IT’S UNCOOL

Bullying is a form of behavior that is carried out repeatedly with the aim of disturbing
other children or lower victims of it. Why can bullying occur? Bully occurs because the
perpetrator has the intention or feeling of desire to disturb the victim and the perpetrator has
power in that environment. from the articles I read, someone who has great power has a big
influence on the surrounding environment, for example, friendships or gangs at school. Bully
itself has three forms, including physical, psychological, and verbal bullying. Bullying
Physically, victims will be treated with physical or physical violence such as victims being
beaten, kicked, etc. secondly psychologically or spiritually the victim will be treated by
spreading gossip gossip that deviates, then shunned. And the last is verbally, here the victim
gets reproach or ridicule by the perpetrator.

We often encounter bullying in the school environment, according to the article I read
more than 1 in 5 children aged between 13-15 years - a total of 18 million children - have
been intimidated and 1 in 3 other children have been physically attacked at school. attacks are
physically carried out by male students, while in girls it is more verbal or with words. The
impact felt by the victims themselves is the fear and anxiety that always arises in them, as
Emilie Minnick said "Oppression, both physical and verbal, has been shown to increase
anxiety and reduce the confidence and belongingness needed to learn and develop effectively.

Roots, an anti-resistance activity carried out by students against other students in the
school launched by UNICEF and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child
Protection. The aim is to increase motivation for bullying to increase learning and improve
student safety. This program focuses on developing a safe environment in schools by
activating the role of students as agents of change that can facilitate the roots of bullying and
implement solutions. As agents of change, they designed anti-resistance campaigns in schools
with the aim of changing attitudes among students.

The Root Day has been running in two regions, namely in South Sulawesi and Central
Java. In the article I read, in South Sulawesi there was an improvement of 30 percent in anti-
bullying programs. And they are very happy in the success. then this program was socialized
at the SMP 17 Semarang school, starting with some students who were embarrassed to join
the program because there were those who became opponents. But a few days later they
finally joined the program and turned bullying into "uncool".
I haven't seen bullying directly, but a few days ago I got a story from a girl I didn't
know, she told me that her friend had a severe depression. After I asked the cause, it turned
out that her friend had experienced bullying when elementary school was even traumatized
by school. then I suggest meeting a psychiatrist. If I, find a bullying in physical form, I will
report it to the authorities so that it can be resolved peacefully. Whereas if I find verbal
bullying I will stop the action by separating the victim first then if the perpetrator can be
invited to peace then he can be advised and explain the anti-bullying program.

Let's do not be a bully, be defenders.

Love Yourself, Love Myself, Greetings of peace.
