Aim:
The aim of the project is to design a single phase sine wave PWM parallel inverter using micro
controller.
Introduction:
The DC to AC power converters are known as inverters. In other words, an inverter is
a circuit which converters a DC power into an AC power at a desired output voltage and
frequency .This conversion can be achieved either by controlled turn-on and turn-off devices
like BJT’S, MOSFET’S , IGBT’S etc. The output voltage waveforms of practical inverters are non
sinusoidal. Simple inverters can be classified into half bridge and full bridge inverters.
In this project we are going to implement a single-phase parallel inverter with R load and R-
L load at a power rating of 200 watts. In this the switches used are IGBT’S (or) MOSFET’S.
Whenever the 230v ac supply is connected to the step down transformer the transformer
steps down the voltage to the 12v ac. This is converted into pulsating dc by the bridge rectifier
formed by connecting the 1n4007 diodes. The output of diodes is connected across the 1000uf
35v capacitor to filter the ripples in the pulsating dc. This pure dc is connected to the 7805
voltage regulator IC. The voltage regulator IC gives the regulated 5v output. This 5v pure
regulated dc is used in the circuits.
