Developing an environment conducive to learning is a process
that entails staging physical space and maintaining a positive climate
and culture. Struggling from poor facilities; Alfredo A. Aledia
Elementary School muddled through the challenge to rise up from
ground zero.
Shared responsibility is the one thing that makes an
organization work and achieve its goals for the welfare not only of the
institution but more importantly of the body it encompasses.
Prior to its total transformation, school learners had to pass
through the sea waters during high tide and rainy season but despite
the struggle, it neither hindered them to concentrate on their academic

classrooms. With the help of the community and private sectors, learners now have a conducive
learning environment.
To help resolve this challenge, School Principal Lubel A.
Bañaria initiated to partner with the Davao-Korean Association in
building a pathway for the school children with the cooperation of the
parents and stakeholders. The construction of the pathway was
completed in a matter of four weeks.
Because the spirit of Bayanihan is a common Filipino trait,
Philippine Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao also extended unselfish
help through piling of soil to the wetland. The fulfilment of this project
promotes the eagerness of the learners to come to school every day
without the hassle of passing through the sea waters anymore, thus,
making the learning environment more conducive to every learner.
Indeed, great things are done by a series of small things
brought together. From scratch, there is always hope to rise up.
