Installation Manual

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

This manual is a guide that will tell you how to install the SMR. It is mandatory that
the staff responsible for the installation, count on the certification issued by
Solpetrocol, to make sure that receive the necessary training and training to ensure
a successful procedure. It is essential to have high level of attention and care during
all phases of installation, whether direct or indirect liability.

IMPORTANT

Solpetrocol ensures that all components of the SMR, are complete. In this
document, you will find a parts list, which lists all the components contained in the
package, we recommend you inspect this content. Similarly, all measures
necessary to prevent damage during transport and storage of equipment were
taken, however, we suggest that you check the status of all items to ensure proper
installation and operation.

Keep this document in a convenient place for quick reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

HSEQ

The Installation Personnel shall comply with all directions, rules and procedures of
the operator, and who has in charge of the operation and the work area. Also shall
record all necessary documents (Work Permits, Insurance Job Analysis, etc.), if it is
required according to the operator and / or the head of the field.

PREOPERATIVE MEETING

Personnel responsible for the installation, shall request a pre-operational meeting

with those involved in the activity, whether the operator, the drill team and the
company responsible for the ESP service, in order to let know to each of them, as
operation is, the installation procedure and the evaluating the risks, to try to prevent
any incidents during the operation, preventive planning any event and posture or
position to take of each part.

PREVENTIVE ACTIONS

Check the type and size of ESP cable used in the well, and make sure that the main
seals are compatible.

Before installation and after reviewing the optimum condition of the equipment to be
installed, proceed to check the status of the tubing hanger (TBG Hanger), the
penetrator hole must be free of grease and impurities, and threads should be in
good condition. The adapter bushing, should be tested on the tubing hanger and
must be verified that the Seal Adapter is correct for that.
Recommendations for Handling the ESP cable

Care must be taken during the entire operation , especially in handling the ESP
cable, since it can be abused or damaged , either in the coating of lead, and the
conductor insulation (EPDM ) .

The cable should not be handled in environments with high humidity or in direct
contact with water as it can be absorbed by the EPDM generating a degradation of
this material.

When removing the armor, must operate with care not to damage the coating of
lead.

During the installation, the cable shouldn't be bent at a 90 degree angle as this
impairs their protection.

Upon removing the EPDM to make the connection in the connection box, the
conductor ( copper) must be sanded and smoothed surface for better current
conduction is important to remove the copper filings if this is about EPDM , because
it can generate electric arcs .

At any time of the operation , the cable should be kept as clean as possible, also at
the end of the process it is suggested leave very clean entire surface of the cable.

During operations outside SMR installation , should be recommended to the team

leader, ensure the integrity of the BES cable , in order to avoid unintended damage
due to the use of tools or elements near the cable.

1. ESP cable preparation

Install the adapter bushing with their o'rings in the tubing

hanger and thread it until fit perfectly (lubricate the thread).

Make sure the ESP cable is aligned and tight to the

production tubing, likewise cable must be aligned with the
penetrator port in the hanger.

Note: If the ESP cable used, has double armor, the exterior
should be removed beforehand and take measurements and
markings on the inner armor.

40”
Take the ESP cable next to the tubing
hanger and make a first mark on the
cable to the lower end of the hanger, use
marker or tape. Make a second mark on
the cable up to the top of the adapter 2nd Mark
bushing. Then cut the ESP cable 40“
above the second mark (see picture).

Make a third mark, 4" above the first

mark. Remove the armor from the third
mark, exposing only the lines with his
lead jacket in the case of flat cable, and
plastic jacket for round cable. It is
necessary to smooth the end of the cut to
protect the coating of lead. 3th Mark

Note: Apply high mode tape on the third 4”

mark once the cut is complete. 1st Mark

Bend the cable below the tubing hanger

and insert it inside the hole.
2. SMR INSTALLATION

Lubricate the o´ring of the seal seat and insert it by the three cable lines until snaps into
position inside the adapter bushing.

Apply Dow Corning in the three cable lines and one by one insert the main seals (with the
smaller diameter front) in each of the lines, use the push tool to ensure that each seal was
introduced in the respective cavity.
2. SMR INSTALLATION

Slide the three pressure bushings on cover of lead, taking the cord as straight as
possible, adjust the pressure bushings over the three stamps.
2. SMR INSTALLATION

Then insert the ring pressure (piston) on the lines and take it to the top with the three
pressure bushing, check that the piston fits snugly on the pressure bushing.

Insert the seal head and thread it in the adapter bushing until the end. Tighten the three
security screws. Then place the cable guard.
4. CONNECTION BOX INATALLATION

After the production tree is seated in the wellhead and the bolts are tightened, remove the
protective pre-installed on the cable, and insert the coupling elbow over the three cable
lines. Then set the screws. Next, insert the connection box and join up with the coupling
elbow.
4. CONNECTION BOX INATALLATION

Remove 14” of the surface cable armor and let 2” inches length of jacket nitrile (see
picture). Insert the nut and the cable gland seal and insert the cable into the connection
box.

4. CONNECTION BOX INATALLATION

Face the surface cable with the ESP cable, and cut the ends of the ESP cable so that they
are aligned with the surface cable. Prepare the ESP cable ends, retiring 100mm of lead
cover, then retire 40mm of the EPDM protection, leaving exposed copper which should
smoothed at the ends.

5. COMPLETION OF THE INSTALLATION

Take each splice connector and assemble them with the tips of the lines connecting, make
sure that the ends of each connector, cover each line over EPDM section. Tighten the four
screws each splice connector and then protect them with the insulation sheath.

Put the box cover and secure properly adjusting the 6 screws. Adjust cable gland nut and
tighten the connection between the elbow coupling and connection box.

Now the installation is completed. The connections on the vent box are responsibility of ESP
technicians. The installation is approved after to check electrical measures, if necessary,
rotation and sensors test may be made, in order to verify proper operation.
6. SMR MECHANICAL SCHEME
7. SMR UNISTALL

To uninstall the SMR should follow the recommendations and content safety protocols at
the beginning of this manual. Perform the following steps :

1. Make sure all equipment involved are isolated from all electrical stream and free
pressure .
2. Remove the box cover and disassemble splice connectors. Loosen the cable gland nut
and remove the surface cable.
3. Loosen the nut of the elbow coupling and remove the connection box. Loosen the set
screws elbow coupling and uninstall.

At this point the production tree is dismounted and the BOP is assembled and the rest of
the workover equipment. After the tubing hanger is raised to the same installation position
of the SMR, continue with the following steps:

4. Loosen the set screws of the seal head and disconnect it from the adapter bushing.
5. Remove the piston, main seals and seal seat.
6. Remove the adapter bushing.
7. Inspect parts and clean all components to be reused. The parts to be replaced are:

• Entirely O'rings.
• Main seals (3 units).
• Piston (ring pressure .
• Splice connectors (3 units).
• Insulation sheath (3 units).

If the ESP cable is to be reused, check its optimal state.
