a) INTRODUCTION
This competition is one of the activities for the postgraduate students held in conjunction
with the MIFT 11th National Food Science and Technology Competition 2019 organized
by Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Malaysian Institute of Food Technology
(MIFT).
b) OBJECTIVES
1. To facilitate presentation skill in a poster form
2. To provide a platform for students to present and share their research finding
c) ELIGIBILITY
Each contestant must be a registered postgraduate student pursuing research that is
related to Food Science or Food Technology. The paper should be related to Food
Science or Food Technology.
d) SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT
Only two (2) entries participants per institution are allowed.
Please submit the title and abstract (not more than 150 words) by 9th January 2019 to:
chkuan@utar.edu.my.
e) INSTRUCTION TO PRESENTERS
Preparation of Poster Presentation
The poster session allows one-to-one discussion of the student’s work. A poster number
will be listed in the program book. The poster should have the following information:
Title, author (first author only; no supervisor's name allowed) ) and institution
Abstract
Introduction (background) and objectives
Materials and Methods
Results and discussion
Conclusion

MIFT 11th National Food Science and Technology Competition 2019
Poster Display
Completed posters must be displayed in the morning before 8.30 am. Respective
participant must stand next to their display to answer the questions during judging at
10.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm on the competition day.
f) JUDGES
Five neutral judges will be invited, one judge per university. Poster presentation will be
judge based on the following criteria:
