Leaving early is just fine. The students will see how we have to juggle our lives to do everything! I will
send more info as we get closer but there is no prep needed on your part. Thanks for doing this.

Hi there,

I would love to participate, however I do have class at 12:35. Would I be able to leave around
12:20 or do I need to be there the whole time?

The Graduate School is planning an Early Faculty panel for doctoral students on Tuesday, April
3, 11:30-1:00 p.m., Hovey 105. A description of the workshop is listed below.

help doctoral students learn what to expect in their first academic position. The structure is

basically a question and answer session. I have questions I can ask to get the group started,
but last year it wasn’t needed. This panel was very popular and the students and panel loved
doing it.
Would you be interested in being a part of this panel?

Early Faculty Panel
Being a new faculty member is a challenging experience for many who have just completed
their terminal degree. This informal panel discussion will feature ISU faculty in their first or
second year who will share their insights into the job search process, positioning yourself for
your ideal job, job negotiations, working in a community college, and expectations once you
arrive on campus.
