Chapter V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter contains the summary of findings, the conclusions drawn and

the proposed recommendations for the present investigation.

Summary

This study used a descriptive-correlational method in assessing the

attitude of the students towards academics, the GPA of the 4 th quarter of the

respondents when they were grade 10 and the level of mobile legends addiction

of the Grade 11 students of Emeterio-Federica Gerez National High school S.Y.

2019-2020.

It specifically, sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the students in terms of?

1.1 Age

1.2. Sex

1.3. Attitude towards academic learnings

2. What are the effects of mobile legends addiction towards the academic of the students?

3. What is the level of mobile legends addiction of the students?

4. Is there a significant relationship of mobile legends addictions of the students towards

their learning?
Based on the specific questions stated, the study tested the hypothesis that

there is a significant relationship between the level of mobile legends addiction and

the academic learnings of Grade 11 students of Emeterio-Federica Gerez National

High School S.Y. 2019-2020.

Descriptive-correlational method of research was used. Where Grade 11

students participated in the study. The researcher utilized a 30-item survey

questionnaire to determine the attitude of the respondents towards academic

performance and another 30-item survey questionnaire to measure their level of

mobile legends addiction.


Findings

The findings of the study are herein summarized:

Age. The ages grade 11 students who are addicted ranges from 15-19 which is too young

for them to be involved in such addiction.

Sex. The grade 11 students are equally prone to mobile legends addiction when it comes

to their sex with a percentage of 50% for male and 50% for female.

Attitude Towards Academic Performance. With the mean of 3.65, it can be said that

generally, students have favorable attitude towards academic performance. These findings

are suggestive that students still need to cultivate their attitude towards academic

performance.

Level of Mobile Legend Addiction. It can be geared that majority of the students who

are involved in mobile legend possess a moderately addicted with a mean of 2.526.

Performance

As shown in the table above, it can be denoted that in the relationship of the profile

of the students and their mobile legends addiction, all profiles were found to be significant

with a p-value of .766 for age, and 0.493 for their attitude towards their academic
performance. Thus, it suggests that there is a significant relationship between the profile of

the students (age & attitude) and level of mobile legends addiction of the grade 11 students.

Conclusions

Based from the findings of the study, the following conclusions were

drawn:

1. There is a moderate mobile legends addiction among the EFGNHS’

Grade 11 students.

2. The profiles of the students have significance in the research studied

by the researchers.

3. Mobile legends addiction affects the attitude of the students towards

academic performance.

Recommendations

On the bases of the findings and the conclusions drawn, the following

recommendation are given:

1. As resulted in the study that the level of mobile legends addiction of the

grade 11 students of EFGNHS is moderately addicted it is recommended

to expose students to parental guidance, active participation in class, and

active participation in recreational activities for them to be far from higher

level of addiction in mobile legends. Enhancement activities may be done

for remediation.
2. For the parents and to whom the addiction of the students concerns, he/she

must give attention the respondents for them to be relieved from this

addiction.

3. Future researchers as their alternative reference in making similar

investigation. Other strategies may be used to confirm herein results. An

experimental study may be conducted employing these strategies to find

out if this will correlate to students’ addiction in mobile legends.
