My research essay will try to establish a better understanding of how and why depression
manifests and how severely depression affects a person’s life. Researching and digging deep into
this topic will not only help me and my family in trying to overcome and manage these feelings,
but also help my audience in their understanding of the mindset of people who struggle with
depression. I’m also looking into a variety of treatments that could be the best solution in severe
cases.

recently got approved and the creators are trying to make the drug look appealing. The article is
targeting people who are suffering from depression. By using personal stories from people who
have used ketamine, it gives hope to the people suffering and makes them want to give it a try

The thesis of this study is depression has been found to contribute to the development of several
chronic medical diseases, including heart disease and diabetes, resulting in further disability and
low quality of life, thus, in treating depression, the optimal treatment outcome has been
functioning.
The introduction of this study states the importance of improving the quality of life of people
by treating depression and then explains that their nationwide study aims to identify associated
factors of patients with depression based on their variables: age, sex, residential area, education,
household income, spouse, employment, current smoking, drinking, regular exercise, obesity,
metabolic syndrome, subjective perception of health and mental health status. This study was
based on the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES), a cross-

I will use this study to further my statement that depression is a worldwide issue. It’s a study
shown that if you can treat depressive symptoms people’s quality of life all around will improve.

The study starts off by giving some background information about depressive disorders and
how much they are linked to healthcare issues among patients. The next sections states how they
conducted their study. The data of the present study are based on the Finnish Depression and
Metabolic Syndrome in Adults (FDMSA) (2009–2011) study and its 5-year follow-up (2012–
2016) study [[19]]. These studies were conducted in municipalities within the Central Finland
Hospital District in Finland with a catchment area of 274,000 inhabitants. The next section
describes how they calculated their statics and then moved on quickly to tell you about their
results. The results are very detailed and included a comparison chart. Then for the final section
they just talk about more information regarding the study. In their primary care setting study was
that profiles and amount of health service (HS) use were, in general, similar among people with
depressive symptoms (DS) without clinical depression and those fulfilling the diagnostic criteria.

There was a total of 8 people who worked together on this study. Each person had some sort
if degree in medicine or psychology. Some were strictly researchers from a lab and others were
from institutions of medical and public health. They even had one person who was from sport
medicine. I got this study from EBSCOhost which is a known academic website.
I plan to use another study for my paper to outline the slightest symptoms from depression
can have more impact on society than we think. This study compares people with depression
against people who don’t, and it highlights the increase and decrease of health care between the
two. I believe this study can further one of my points that it’s important that we recognize
depressive signs in people that are starting to manifest and get them help.
