CONSTRUCTION FEATURES
Ballast Housing-The die cast aluminum housing provides a
counterbalanced mounting, excellent heat dissipation, and
ease of maintenance. The ballast and capacitor mounting
arrangement provide maximum heat conductivity to the outer
surfaces of the housing for cooler operation of all electrical
components. a weatherproo{ and thermally controlled cable
strain relief connector allows use of 75"C rated cords. All
luminiaires are equipped with three foot length #14 AWG/3
conductor type SOW-A cord. A rear housing cover, held in
place by (4) captive screws, can be hinged to fully expose
all electrical components for visual inspection or maintenance,
and is completely removable if necessary
Socket Housing-A die cast aluminum socket housing is
attached to ballast housing at three points. A half inch air
space separation minimizes any heattransfer. Socket housing
is equipped with a permanently sealed breatherto stabilize
atmospheric pressure.
Optical Assembly- 18" diameter reflectors are anodized to
provide N EMA Type 2,3,4,5 or 6 beam spreads. The
reflectors are spun aluminum, end punched and sphero-
parabolic shapes. The lens is clear, tlat tempered, or prismed
glass. The hinged lens frame and one-piece silicone rubber
gasket is secured to the reflector with captive hardware to
ensure a fully sealed optical system. An optional heavy duty
housing can be supplied for maximum reflector protection.

degree calibrated quadrant plate and repositioning device. A
single index bolt seats quadrant plate and provides a positive
repositioning stop, returning luminaire to original aiming angle.
A .250"thick steel trunnion (yoke) bracket is secured by tlvo
pivot locking bolts. Optional crossarm mounting fitting with
horizontal degree scale or a 2" pipe sliptitter assembly is
available. All integral models have built-in visualaiming sights.
Lampholders- Enclosed glazed porcelain socket with
spring-loaded, nickel-plated center contact and reinforced
lamp grip screw shell. An optional lamp grip device, factory
installed, is also available to increase lamp grip and centering
supporl of the glass envelope. HPS sockets are pulse rated.
Finish- Ballast-socket housings and trunnion have an
aluminum baked-on paint finish.
Lamp-Accommodates MercuryVaporor l\,4etal Halide-4O0W
and 1000W; or High Pressure Sodium-2sow and 4oow
lntegral Ballast Starting rated to -20oF. Metal Halideand
High Pressure Sodium ballasts are H PF constant wattage
autotransformer (CWA) type. High Pressure Sodium ballasts
utilize an electronic starter circuit.
